Get StartedDetroit looked like last year's team.
Quite crap, couldn't do much right.
Larkin did have a nice goal and at least Ryan was putting puck on the net. Bertuzzi was unlucky on a 1-timer early on and that's the best chance Detroit had for a long time.
But overall it was a very poor effort.
Some of the zone entries were commically bad. Recall two in a row on same PP. The latter Ras has the puck in middle and has space to break into zone, instead passes it to 1 of 2 Wings waiting for him to cross the line. Puck doesn't cross the line and Rass skates into the offensive zone. FFS!
Watching this game was just frustrating.
Greiss played fine.
First goal Biega blocked a shot and puck went straight to Kane who put it in.
Point shot with Brome as traffic trying to block it may have gotten a piece. A savable shot but given common one in hockey.
Third goal Hawks on PP just destroyed the Wings box which got spread out large by overcomiting. Hronek was well away from the eventually scorer who had an easy tap/redirection into a near empty net after a few quick passes. No chance for Greiss.
Game easilly could have been 6-0 for Chicago not counting the empty netter.
Mantha had another 0 effort night.
There were rumors of maybe a Mantha vs Pierre Luc Dubois after Dubois went lazy on a play and seems to want out of Columbus. After Mantha shit the bed again maybe.
Dubois for Laine and Roslovic
Big trade, I would consider this an overall loss for Winnipeg. But they have been looking to move Laine for about 2 years now.
Not a major loss, perhaps a premium cause Dubois is a 'center'.
On paper maybe but one was a hold out and the other two wanted a trade. Jets do get a 3rd round pick. I believe it was 3rd. Disgruntled guys like these are never happy.
