Chris Bosio fired due to insensitive comments

The Tigers probably have employed a gag order to it's personnel concerning the subject due to pending litigation. We will probably not know what truly happened. I am banking that it never goes to trial and it is settled out of court with some sort of gag for both parties from commenting on it in public.


I have watched two interviews so far, Gardy and Alex Wilson. Both appeared to be shocked by what happened, but both was very careful in what they said and responded with very similar answers.

As soon as it was reported Daniel Stumpf had no knowledge of the nickname, that-itself drove a big nail in Bosio's coffin. Also, we can best assume Avila talked to Daniel and all the coaches prior to the firing and questioned them about the alleged nickname and their familiarity (or lack of) with it.

Now that the story has opened up, I believe Bosio will rebound from this and enjoy further employment as a pitching coach elsewhere in MLB for 2019. This infraction won't keep him unemployed for long. But his next employer will put Chris on some-sort of probation, with verbal restrictions.

In any case, Chris seems like the type of character that will burn himself again someday. He can't seem to talk appropriately and will probably be asked to seek tutoring at speaking courses that are available to high profile employees that are subject to the media occasionally. Places / orgs like Carnegie and Dynamic come-to-mind.

Trump, Congress members and Late night talk show pundits and can say anything they'd like they are exempt from the PC culture everybody else finds themselves living under today. I find that sad. I call myself a monkey all the time, I have even been known to use monkey pics for my avatar elsewhere quite often.

It's all just so stupid.

Maybe this was his plan, to get a long paid vacation. I assume he still gets paid.
 
FRIDAY: Sources that spoke with Ken Rosenthal and Katie Strang of The Athletic painted quite a different picture than did Bosio.
Whereas Bosio asserted that he was making a comment to others that was overheard and taken out of context by a team employee, this new report indicates that a racial epithet was directed from Bosio to the employee.
Multiple sources specifically disputed Bosio?s account of what occurred, per The Athletic $$ site.

Depends! Avila has the right to stop payment, unless fine print in Bosio's contract exists, that allows him pay after any termination.

If Avila feels that the Tigers contain sufficient evidence to support dismissal, then Bosio may be just blowing smoke, concerning his threats to sue the Tigers.

Chris has about 750K reasons to stick with his story. That's my guess on how much the Tigers would pay him, for the remaining 1-1/2 seasons as pitching coach.

On a finishing note, I wonder who was right beside Bosio, when he allegedly referred to Stumpf in such monkey-nickname-fashion?
Whomever Bosio was speaking with at the time the Attendant overheard that comment, has not come forward in media-response, to back him.

That usually indicates Bosio is full of lies and fired deservedly.
