Going to heal up and skip the joke. Never fear though Lions fans, we all get to watch some pro bowl caliber long snapping with our very own Dandy Don Mulbach!

at some point in the future so many Pro Bowlers will turn down the invite they will either have to cancel the game or change the name to Low Bowlers...or maybe just make it a Bowel Game instead of a Bowl Game???

Lol It wouldn't have bothered me one bit to see them try and light Cam Newton's ass up if he had made it this year :)

Maybe the Pro Bowl should be eliminated in favor of the #1 Draft Pick Bowl, where the teams with the worst W/L records in the AFC and NFC square off for the prized selection. The bowl game loser would then be dropped to the bottom of the first round of the draft, thereby providing much more motivation for the participating teams to win the game...

While I think the loser should pick #2, that's a pretty fucking good idea. The only hiccup might be whether you can get your soon to be free agents to participate.

They need to stop playing this game. There's no way to play a basterdized football game. Everyone makes too much money to risk getting hurt. And at the end of the year pretty much everyone is banged up.

I'd rather they would just do some sort of NFC/AFC skills competition instead. That would be more entertaining. They'd still get their free trip to Hawaii...although I'm not sure how enticing that is when you make millions of dollars per year. But again, it still goes back to guys being hurt and not wanting to participate.

Remember back in the late 80's and early 90's they had the NFL's fastest man competition? That was AWESOME. I wish they did that and maybe like a NFL version of the Worlds Strongest Man competition. I would love to see Suh vs Ngata in that.

Clock a QB's throw.

Shit like that.

That would be MUCH more entertaining than that trainwreck of a game.

I agree just make the thing like a competition deal with different skill tests for different positions. I havnt been able to watch the game in years its a flat out joke.

The NFL is considering expanding the regular season to 18 games, but instead, why not eliminate the Pro-Bowl game and instead of an 18 game season, keep it @ 16, then all of the teams who did not clinch a postseason berth, get to play two games during the SB playoffs to further determine draft position? They could be seeded by comparable W/L records, with a win moving a team one spot higher in the draft, instead of lower during the regular season.

Two games of a "Draft Position Playoffs" ensuring that for example, a 5-11 team who was to lose their first playoff game vs a 4-12 team would then likely play the second game vs the winner between two 3-13 teams, or the winner between a 3-13 team vs a 2-14 team, and the winning 4-12 team would play the loser between two 6-10 teams or the loser between a 6-10 team vs another 5-11 team. Teams who have a better regular season record having HFA for the first game, and would play the second game on the road if they lose.

An 18 game regular season obviously will increse the odds of teams incurring more injuries, especially if two preseason games are removed and replaced and teams must play meaningful games in much warmer, if not hotter weather in the South and Southwest.

Implementing a two game "Draft Position" playoffs that would be played in cooler/colder weather, and both would be played concurrently during the Superbowl playoffs. The NFL could also include the losers of the first Wildcard playoff round in the second Draft Position playoff games, when the divisional rounds are played and the number of teams still in the SB playoffs have been reduced.

I didnt read that cause I didn't have to. If theres no chance to make the playoffs then fuck it i forfeit give me the first overall and I'm out. Last thing I want is to lose a player like cj in a game that really doesn't matter.

The players union would NEVER go for that.

Why would any player entering FA play in it??

Why would any player with even a minor injury play in it?

That is a horrible idea. The NFL draft order is the most fair/orderly draft of the major sports....and the ONLY one people care enough to actually watch. Why would they change it?

This would be a great idea for the nba. Good idea, wrong sport. Prevent tanking to boot.

It has already been speculated and predicted by those associated with the NFL, that there will likely be many more injuries sustained by every team IF the NFL goes to 18 games regardless. This idea would result in NFL franchise owners taking in more $$$ due to two draft position playoff games being played later in the season, with ticket prices perhaps nearly or closely matching those for the Superbowl playoffs. As far as players entering FA, those extra two games would have to result in playoff money that would be significantly more than what would be earned by playing two additional regular season games. The most a franchise could drop or rise in the draft order is one or two places.
