With his future in doubt and reporters asking whether he thinks about being traded, CJ replied he "wants to win here".
That's a positive, but going back to prior discussions in another thread, he needs to recognize his high contract is hurting the team's overall talent level.
If he wants to win in Detroit, he should really consider a contract that pays him about 75% what he currently makes so that money can be put toward a better team. Now, in his twilight years he wants to win a SB.
I like CJ, but this needs to be something he comes to terms with. And I'm not talking a restructure, I'm talking a pay cut.
If the salary cap was not involved, fine...get every cent possible. With salary caps, the superstars need to grasp how a highest level contract hurts their chance to win a championship.
