Clete is DFA'ed

Tigers designate Clete Thomas for assignment so they can purchase Drew Smyly's contract for tomorrow's start.

I doubt it, I don't see then replacing any pitchers with position players with the trouble we have/had.

Probably Worth, there is just no place for him with the log-jam on the IF right now if Inge starts against lefties.

As much as I hate to root against a Tiger, I hope Inge goes 0-20 against LHP and gets dumped, he's a distraction the team does not need.

We started out one short in the bullpen though.

We started out with an extra position player because we left Smyly in Toledo to make 1 start there, that's why both Worth and Clete made the team initially.

Wilk replaced Fister when he went on the DL, Clete was DFA to make room for Smyly's position, so when Inge comes up a position player has to go.

I can;t see us going with a short bullpen any longer.

Why would anyone claim him?

They can wait and hope to sign him as a free agent to a minor league deal and not have to put him on their 40-man roster.

At 28, Clete is no longer a "prospect". He is a career AAAA OFer.

Unlike espn previously and Monsters board when you edited like in this case add another link and story, you could also add or change the title of the thread. I don't see a way to do that here...unless I am missing something.
I would have added to the title of 'Clete is DFA'ed' -with- 'and claimed off waivers'.
