Climate Change Is Amazing.

I'm sorry you don't understand it. That must be frustrating.

This is a pretty excoriating comment, typical of the leftist narrative that has lambasted jwlcoso for the last two years on this board.

You are the reason he no longer gives a fuck about the quality of this message board.

That is a fantastic fucking word. I hope you never stop caring about the quality of this message board.

So the media bias fact checker site says Power Line is guilty of "rejecting the consensus of science when it comes to climate change."

Here I am thinking that the climate is always changing. Imagine if it didn't. I know there was concern regarding CO2 being at a concentration of 400 ppm, well the PEL (Permissible Exposure Limit) for OSHA is 5,000 ppm averaged over an 8-hour period (workday) It's not immediately dangerous to health until levels of 40,000 ppm.

What I like about Media Bias Fact Check is... they tend to get right.

For example sources you link to, Bob, for example Mother Jones, come up pretty left.

I think I like to think I?m onto something good.

And when is the last time I have posted anything from Mother Jones ? A year Two years ? It may be left be they do better reporting then some publications.

Now propublica is a great site !

Nah, sggatecl is not one of those guys. Guessing he and I disagree on most things but it's always been civil. I think he'd agree.

Tim Ball is a good source for the whole debate I tend to agree with him

In the first half, retired climatology professor Tim Ball shared his views on the global debate over climate change. While he doesn't deny that climate change is taking place, he sees it as part of natural cycles or variabilities rather than something caused by humans and the industrial byproduct of greenhouse gases. Environmental issues and climate change have become politicized, he argued, and the world has been misled by alarmist threats. For example, the 1930s were much hotter than today, he stated, but meteorological organizations changed the record to make it appear that the past was cooler. The US government funds climate research with huge amounts of money, but it only supports the man-made global warming hypothesis, he lamented.

The predictions made on the original Earth Day in 1970 have not panned out, such as the ice caps melting, sea level rising, desertification, and deforestation-- "there is no truth to any of these things," Ball claimed, calling it a kind of "cry wolf" scenario. World overpopulation is another myth, he continued-- we produce enough food to feed approximately 26 billion people, though he conceded a lot of this never makes it to the table. Underlying the entire environmental movement is a kind of anti-humanity stance, he commented, but the reality is, we have as much right to exist and act as all the other animals, and in the Darwinian sense people are the most successful of all the species.

Yeah. I try to treat the people on this board much the same as I would in person. I hate how internet anonymity gives people the green light to talk shit and act like they're about that life. I don't want to be that guy.

Except nsonnet. He's an ignorant twat and I hate that we root for the same teams. I imagine we'd fight if we ever met. The rest of you all seem like people I'd have a beer with.

A recent poll found that "climate change" is now the most politically polarized issue facing America today, with Democrats polled placing it 3rd among 29 issues facing the nation, and Republicans placing it 29th out of 29. link.

BUT, don't worry Republicans: unlike abortion, most of the Democratic candidates in the field take Big Oil money too, and are even more opposed to the Democratic candidates that don't than they are to the GOP. This will ensure regardless who wins, nothing will be done, bringing about the complete societal collapse even sooner. so that in ~50 years, the only humans alive will be the billionaires you love, & their families and rentinues, in fortified bunkers and plantations in the polar regions - the only places still cool enough to allow plant life to grow.

Cool, I?ll be dead.

At least hopefully.

Just my luck, the free market/capitalist healthcare system will allow medical innovations to provide that people can live to be two or 300 years old, and I?m going to have a century or two of having to suffer living through that shit.

it WILL suck... billionaires have the worst taste in everything: fashion, music, art, nightlife, etc.

here I am thinking consensus has nothing to do with the scientific method and that "consensus" doesn't have a very good track record, not to mention the "consensus" is nowhere near the frequently overstated ">90%"

Look who woke up today and decided he wanted to argue in circles for hours on end over what >90% means.
