For making the World Series. Their run here reminds me a little bit of the 2006 Tigers. After years of being a laughingstock they finally get a very solid team together led by their strong starting pitching and stellar bullpen and get over their playoff drought. They go about their business and make the playoffs and storm through the first two rounds, much like the Tigers did back in 06.

Now just like the Tigers they will face a little bit of a break before playing again in the WS. We'll see how it plays out for them, but I'll be rooting for them against either the Cards or Giants. Sick of those two franchises swapping titles almost.

The Royals can burn in the depths of hell. I would rather watch SF or StL win another WS than watch the Royals win. It would be too much for me with our near-constant failure in the playoffs since the 2006 WS.

I'm pulling for KC. I don't blame them for the Tiger's failings. It also helps I don't work/live/interact with any Royals fans. It's not like White Sox/Cleveland fans that tend to have some real douche fans.

I hope the Royals do win the WS...maybe a team like them (great defense and great bull pen) will make DD concentrate more on what the Tigers need.

I doubt it though

Has anything gone wrong at all for the Royals in these playoffs? They seem to make every play they need to make right now. Definitely has a look of destiny. Now will see if it all goes cold after sitting for a week.

Our best shot came in 06 when we were a well rounded balanced team, much like the Royals this year. Ever we went the way of the Yankees its no surprise we have had about as much success as them the last 5 years. Can't pay for championships

I'm very happy for KC, my fear though is they will pull an 06 Tigers and have their destiny run out on the big stage.

I just cant root for a team we were 14-5 against in the regular season..

On my wish list, coming in at about #25,000, is for the Royals to beat either SF or STL for the KC fans, because fans of the two NL teams have had plenty to celebrate.

After the Tigers were eliminated, I tried to hang and watch the Dodgers, who were eliminated pretty much right after the Tigers.

Haven't paid attention to a single game since and I won't start either.

I think we were 13-6, but what does our record against them have to do with it I suppose?

I guess I am just jealous because I know we are better then they are head to head.. I don't care how great the KC pen is we handled them with ease in the regular season...

I mean I just cant believe how fortunate KC is has been this post season... Eight in a row... Give me a break... If we have to suffer I want other franchises to suffer... But rooting for the cardinals or Giants is not much better... I have only watched 1 inning of the baseball playoffs with the Tigers out of it...It just freaking sucks..

Nobody is better than anybody else in the postseason.

They could just as easily resolve it with coin tosses.

I have said this forever. Put the Dbacks or Astros in the playoffs and they could win it, it's a total crapshoot.

Because even during the regular season, baseball isn't like football or basketball. In those games, the good teams will play from .600 to .800; the crap teams will play from .200 to .400; and the middle teams play from .400 to .600.

In baseball, compared to those other two sports...EVERYBODY is a middle team!

This idea is like a kid burning down the playground when he has to go home so nobody else can have any fun.

A few posters here who share your opinion on the Royals, and while I respect you guys as posters for the most part, I gotta say you are all coming off sounding a bit childish on this.

Anyone else see the Royals "We Own the Pennant" t-shirts in mockery of the Tigers "We Own the Central" shirts? Fuck them. I hope the NL winner embarrasses them in the WS.

That's how I felt in 2006.

I wish I had so few real concerns that shit like this could actually bother me.

They are printed by MLB, not the Royals
. When the Giants or Cardinals win they will where the same thing. Its not sticking it to the Tigers

There's two givens..root against the Yankees and root against teams in your own division.
