Coronainsanity

Don't forget, he admitted he knew in February. So bad people criticized Woodward for not going public sooner.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-woodward-book-claims-downplayed-covid-19-threat/

Feb 7 in private:
"...you just breath the air and that's how it's passed. And so. That's a very tricky one. That's a very delicate one. It's also more deadly than your, you know, even your strenuous flus. ...this is deadly stuff"

Feb 26, to the public:
"it's a little like the regular flu that we have flu shots for. And we'll essentially have a flu shot for this in a fairly quick matter."

March 19th, in private:
"I wanted to always play it down. I still like playing it down... ...because I don't want to create a panic."

The skein of mis-information that the news casts to a fear-addicted public is evil on its face. That the active minds here even watch it and cite it is surprising.

Do not let it filter your brains. it will never report the facts in context or as such. And if you believe that 400,000+ in the US people have died from COVID, that is inaccurate.

Here's an expansion of the diagnosis code for COVID Link

And an article that admits that the US is not coding as the rest of the world codes, and, IMO, serves to increase the number of diagnoses and deaths ascribed to COVID. Link

Look at flow charts 2-3 and see if anything is askew.

"Without having a diagnosis code for both lab-confirmed COVID-19 and clinically diagnosed COVID-19, we only have one option: U07.1 – COVID-19. For purposes of vital statistics reporting, the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) has confirmed that U07.1 can be used for both lab-confirmed and clinically diagnosed patients who have died."

More on clinically diagnosed from the CDC:

Code only a confirmed diagnosis of the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as documented by the provider, documentation of a positive COVID-19 test result, or a presumptive positive COVID-19 test result. For a confirmed diagnosis, assign code U07.1, COVID-19. This is an exception to the hospital inpatient guideline Section II, H. In this context, “confirmation” does not require documentation of the type of test
performed; the provider’s documentation that the individual has COVID-19 is sufficient.

Because 3.3 million people died last year when it's recently been around 2.85. If there was some huge discrepancy, I might be tempted to dig into these details and try to explain why things are fishy, but nothing is fishy.

Okay, QAnon, and the end goal here is...???

I'm trying to think of who benefits from this.

Trump pretty much lost solely because of his inaction on this issue. Acting like a retard on twitter was one thing, but he's been doing that since like 2011, and still got elected. The callous disregard for human life and the pandemic seemed to be the reason any of my otherwise pro-Trump relatives voted for Biden this time around.

So it can't be that.

Are the Democrats behind this? They couldn't beat Trump in 2016, but managed a nationwide campaign to secretly inflate the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths to undermine Trump?

Who actually benefitted from this...? I've seen notes that UnitedHealth and other major health insurers have been doing well. Honestly haven't delved into why. I assume the fact that they're more or less regional monopolies helps.

It seems like some hospitals are doing well, and others not so much, so that kinda undermines the conspiracy theory that doctors are over-diagnosing it to pocket that sweet "Coronavirus Money" from the government.

I know big box retailers (who all got to stay open) and amazon have been doing well. Home improvement, home construction as well. Real estate sales have boomed as people who can now work from home relocate to get more space or to areas with lower rent and COL.

Maybe they're all behind it?

And all the businesses that have suffered (airlines, bars, restaurants, sports leagues, gyms).. just didn't couldn't manage to expose this massive conspiracy to save themselves?

hmmm, this is a tough one. the people who aren't telling you the truth who you're willingly surrendering your freedom and granting them more and more power to and berating everyone who doesn't - they come to mind as people who may benefit from this.

What "freedom" am I surrendering? The freedom to not wear a mask for the 5 minutes before the waiter brings me a drink? The freedom to not wear a mask when I fly?

The government has the power to pretty much destroy me any time they want, listen to all my communications, freeze my accounts on flimsy allegations of criminal behavior, arrest me pretty much whenever, and the police can shoot me and get away with it unless there's video evidence of them doing that... all these things have been true for years. But passing a "mask mandate" during a pandemic?

NOOOOOO!!!!! FREEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

Link please? I did some research and did not find that stat of 3.3 million.

So you trust MSM. Okay. Why?

you mean, when you googled for "the PLANdemic" before you posted, no actual data about excess deaths in 2020 came up? very strange.

No, but there's plenty of sources I do trust that have covered this.

and to some extent, I don't need to trust when I can weigh the likelihood something is fake or misleading myself. And video evidence - like the one TomDalton posted of the guy demonstrating that masks cut down on the transmission of aerosolized droplets - I don't really need to "trust" anyone, unless I think EVERYTHING I see is fake, in which case I'm probably a character in the movie The Matrix..

my guess is there have probably been some cases where someone old died and they blamed it on COVID. I do believe that some hospitals might be lazy and put COVID on the death certificate because...well, they are overwhelmed with COVID patients. So, the "official" death count is 408K. Let's say that 20% aren't really from COVID...that's still 325K. That still seems like a real problem to me.

I also think that COVID cases are significantly under reported. Last I heard it was 23M people in the US. I wouldn't be surprised if there were up to double that number that have been infected but most didn't have any signs or symptoms.

Presumption is certainly your long suit, MC. Especially with my history of what I link in regards to this thread. Mostly original sources from the CDC and the like.

I said "inaccurate," not "fake".

there are also a sound theory that COVID deaths are significantly undercounted, which is what Gulo's been saying based on the number of excess deaths we've seen this past year. From the Boston University School of Public Health (link):
For every 100 excess deaths directly attributed to COVID-19, there were another 36 excess deaths. This means 26 percent of all excess deaths were not directly attributed to COVID.

who knows. All I know is it's REALLY bad. Much worse than I would ever have imagined.

Follow this back to December 2019... I haven't read everyone, but enough of them.

I think - without getting into an argument over semantics - that distinction doesn't matter here, unless I misunderstood your post, and you were concurring with the view that deaths are inaccurate to the extent they are significantly undercounted.
