Coronainsanity

Hey, now. deaths are only bad & worth publicizing if they are due to the following:

1) abortion
2) black on white crime
3) Islamic terrorists
4) vaccine side effects

anyone else who dies either had it coming, or it was just "God's Will"

#1 killer of people 35-54 in August and September.

No, not possible. The experts that post here have repeatedly said it's less deadly then the Flu, and only bad for people over 50 unless they are fat and have other health issues first.

Covid-19 is a hoax remember?

According to Fauci, if you're vaxx'd and boosted, you should be fine so long as you maintain a minimum of 6' distance, wear 2 masks and limit your visit to less than 15 minutes. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wasn't he at one point claiming 3 masks? I guess his stock in mask companies wasn't increasing fast enough for him at that point.

Engineered bio weapon?

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopoliti...dden-fears-over-dramatically-new-covid-strain

According to reports, the new B.1.1.529 variant has 32 mutations in the spike protein, the part of the virus that most vaccines use to prime the immune system against Covid. Mutations in the spike protein make it harder for immune cells to attack the pathogen, just as so many vaccine skeptics have been warning for the past year when making the point that taking inefficient medications shoved down the population?s throats (such as those from Pfizer and Moderna) that do not serve as real vaccines but merely paliatives, will only lead to more dangerous and weaponized versions of the virus.

That?s precisely what is happening now.

The variant was first spotted in Botswana, where three cases have now been sequenced. Six more have been confirmed in South Africa, and one in Hong Kong in a traveller returning from South Africa.

Botswana?s health ministry confirmed in a statement that four cases of the new variant were detected in people who were all fully vaccinated. All four were tested before their planned travel. One sample was also detected in Hong Kong, carried by a traveler from South Africa, South African scientists said.

With over 1,200 new infections, South Africa?s daily infection rate is much lower than in Germany, where new cases are driving a wave. However, the density of mutations on this new variant raises fears that it could be highly contagious, leading scientists to sound the alarm early.

?This variant did surprise us, it has a big jump in evolution, many more mutations than we expected, especially after a very severe third wave of Delta,? said Tulio de Oliveira, director of the KwaZulu-Natal Research and Innovation Sequencing Platform.

The B1.1.529 variant has a ?very unusual constellation of mutations,? with more than 30 mutations in the spike protein alone, said Mr. de Oliveira. On the ACE2 receptor ? the protein that helps to create an entry point for the coronavirus to infect human cells ? the new variant has 10 mutations. In comparison, the Beta variant has three, the Delta variant has two, said Mr. de Oliveira.

Dr Tom Peacock, a virologist at Imperial College London, agrees with Oliveira. Peacock posted details of the new variant on a genome-sharing website, noting that the ?incredibly high amount of spike mutations suggest this could be of real concern?.

In a series of tweets, Peacock said it ?very, very much should be monitored due to that horrific spike profile.?

But, as some cynics pointed out on twitter, ?the Strangelove who provided that convenient media clickbait epithet ?horrifying? has also admitted it may be LESS not more of a danger? and indeed, the Guardian report notes that it may turn out to be an ?odd cluster? that is not very transmissible. ?I hope that?s the case,? he wrote.

New variant displacing delta much faster than delta displaced beta, we're already stopping people from flying from impacted countries. Here's some new details:
http://www.imperial.ac.uk/news/232217/qa-imperial-experts-discuss-variant-b11529/

I read a long post about it ("omicron" right?) and they also reported speculation this could be an entirely new strain of COVID (SARS COVID-3), due to the number of mutations. it would also mean the vaccines for COVID-2 are worthless.

It is kinda surprising they started cancelling flights already. The article noted that media sources were downplaying the potential, even as they reported flight cancellations.

They know the source of this new variant:

And if we collectively had any sense, we might have been able to prevent this. The immunocompromised make for great breeding grounds for new variants. The press did point out what the experts had been discussing, that this variant resulted from a protracted infection in an immunocompromised, likely HIV positive, individual (recall that HIV is widespread in South Africa). For instance, per the BBC: ?This level of mutation has most likely come from a single patient who was unable to beat the virus.?

The reporting of this shit is all over the place; they mention the fact that the Beta variant didn't end up being too scary, but Delta did. So why not be cautious in both places?

They still don't get it (From the Freep):
Several nations, including Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Japan, have responded to news of the variant by moving Friday to restrict air travel from several southern African countries. The European Union, which is made up of 27 nations, is also recommending a ban on flights from southern African countries, despite WHO officials warning against rash decisions.
But it's not a rash decision to be overly cautious in the face of an unknown threat; being overly cautious is the CORRECT behavior when facing an unknown.

How did we get to be so fucking stupid as a species?

along those lines, we're waiting til Monday to shut down air travel between South African countries:
The U.S. said it will restrict travel from South Africa, as well as Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique and Malawi, according to a statement from senior officials from the Biden administration.

The policy will take effect Monday, and President Joe Biden said the new rules mean ?no travel? to or from the designated countries, except for returning U.S. citizens and permanent residents who test negative.

Why coddle international travelers so much?

We should be saying, "We're facing a threat, we're closing down. Fuck you and your stupid trip. There's a pandemic going on, and you knew the risk."

Every time I see news about omnicron I think transformers

The transformer variant

Unicron was in the Transformers animated movie, the internet keeps making the same mistake you did, or you just read it on the internet and repeated it...wrong.

The spin doesn't even make sense anymore. "Nobody took the Chinese Hoax more seriously than me!"

...and before someone tries to remind me, I do know what he said.

Wrong, it sounds like a name for a transformer. I didn?t read anything anywhere about it, it sounds like something out of a transformer movie therefore that?s what it will be. Say it out loud is your best deep transformer voice. Omnicron!

Now I did read some stuff on the internet about how they skipped XI has to not offend our chicom overlords

There are a couple initial reports that while Unicron is super contagious, it doesn't appear to be worse. Hopefully, that's true.
