he was the key, I know payne was the key but Costello needed to stay on the floor so we could have a real size advantage. he's a foul a minute player and we were up against a team that draws a lot more fouls than their opponent.

Costello being on the bench just killed us

Was it gonna be Costello's job to run out to Harris and take the ball from him and bring it back with him down to Payne? Because THAT is what killed us this game. The refs were calling fouls on post players the whole game(part of the reason Costello was on the bench). We should have had Morgan and Horford fouled out of this game with 10 mins to go the way it was called. We didn't adapt to that and it killed us.

Costello and payne on the floor together gives us a huge matchup advantage. they would either have to go with morgan and horford together which takes them out of their offense or play GR3 on one of those two, it would give us a huge rebounding edge.

Costellos 4 fouls came in about 7 minutes I'd guess

Right, but Payne was still on the floor and we didn't post him up nearly enough. I don't care if he missed EVERY FT he shot. We should have kept going to him. Instead Harris just kept shooting 3's. Honestly, I can't remember ONE of his 3 attempts being from a kick out from Payne. That's a serious problem. We are a much better team when we play inside/out.

agree, everything needed to go through payne.

I just don't get it. I was really looking forward to the 2nd half after Payne got through the 1st with only 1 foul. I really expected Payne to touch the ball on the block every possession. Instead, the majority of the time that he touched the ball was up at the top of the key and he'd have to put the ball on the floor and create himself. Just a weird game plan.

In post game he said payne was gassed, I saw him grabbing his shorts doubled over.
