Unconfirmed reports say he is done for the year. Hoke would not say what the injury was or confirm if he was out for the year.

This really sucks because we were counting on him big time.

Wasn't that on a punt return coverage play? As I'm recalling it looked like the block that took him out might have been illegal...not that these refs would have called it.

Too bad. Never want to see injuries happen. Not even to U of M.

Hope it's not as bad as it seems.

Sorry to hear from MGOBLOG that Countess is done for the year, hope he has a full recovery for next year, never want to see a young kid hurt.

Looks like Lewan will miss significant time as well. Sorry.

Not sure where you are getting the Lewan news because I havnt seen anything about him.

I honestly hope it's wrong, even as a Spartan I do, I've heard it from some pretty credible posters on various boards. One Michigan guy who I respect said he heard 4 weeks. Haven't heard anything about Moore though.

The Lewan information may be correct, but I am guessing it is RCMB is speculating. Also, I find the apologies from Spartan fans disingenuous, but then again I am biased.

I looked into these injuries last night on the internet. It was reported by Mlive that Lewan was telling the coaches he could go back in if needed. I also saw that he should be back for the ND game. Countess appears to have an ACL injury (tear or strain not clear). He was seen running in place in front of the bench after the examination by the trainers. The word is that it is possible to do this with an ACL tear, the problem is with the instability of the knee (saw this on MGOBLUE I think it was). These were all from Sunday. There should be more news today.
