dee milliner? probably not

Are the Lions cursed? When are the breaks ever going to go our way? Get 3 top 5 picks, but it's in years salary cap wise that are an awful time to have 3 top 5 picks. Then we're bad again and get a top 5 pick in a year when the 5th pick is not much better than the 20th pick. It always seems to shake out wrong for this organization. Some of it's self made (drafting injury riddled players), some of it's something else entirely. I don't know, maybe the good franshises see that high picks a few years ago can hamstring your franchise with huge salary cap hits for years to come so they trade down. But, it sure seems like Johnson, Stafford, and Suh were all no brainers at the top of the 1st round.

Yeah I meant in the terms of still being on a rookie contract...extended is the word I should of used.

suh is making 18 mil this year because of his restructure not because of his rookie contract. That was my point.....mayhew/lewand cant make those type of decisions then complain about them later. They made all the decisions so all this shit hits the fan on the same year. Avril, houston, 8 starters being FAs on defense all in the same year, salary cap issues. They did it to themselves cause the plan is there is no plan. Avril has been a probelm for 3 years now.....what was the back up plan?.....willie young? lmao.

The plan was to retain the talent as long as they could. They wanted Avril, Tulloch, Backus and Hill back and it came at a price(Suh,KVB,Burleson,Stafford restructures).

Luckily that price was cutting KVB, Peterman(who both suck) and having Raiola and Burleson take pay cuts(kudos to them) and extend Stafford(which is a good thing). No big deal on the Suh restructure. If he wants to be here they'll get a deal done next year to alleviate his giant cap number(just like they did with Calvin and Stafford), if he doesn't want to be here, they can trade him next year. Mayhew and Lewand did a good job managing the old CBA. They restructured at the right times and made long term deals with the superstars at the right time.

Houston, Delmas, Durant, Jackson back and draft a DE. Very possible that happens. This team is better if that happens. KVB was pure garbage give me Lo Jack and Willie Young over him all day. Peterman or Nagy meh. We got Reiff to replace Gosder, or money to sign Gosder if Backus retires. Calvin, Broyles(who can recover), Pettigrew, Scheffler and Burleson is solid. I've seen Stafford make due with that before only headcase Young instead of Broyles. Broyles said his injured knee was stronger last year than it ever was. Hopefully that happens with his other knee now. Plus the ability to draft a speed back or speed WR and LeShoure one year removed from an achilles injury. Losing Levy, Avril, KVB, Peterman may be a blessing in disguise.

Matt 40 freaking touchdowns Stafford. And Suh is a really good DT. The Stafford extension is happening and it's the right time for it.

Stafford isn't a superstar...sorry dude.

Layne's a bum. He couldn't hold Staffords jock

Stafford in the 50s wins 10 championships

He also performs Johnny B Goode at his high school prom thus indirectly inventing rock and roll.
