1Would a better infield defense benefit Porcello? Would a better shortstop be an answer?
2Would trading him to a team that could field better and turn DP's be worth value to that team to get a better left fielder?,shortstop, or pitcher that would better fit Tigers as there D is set now, IE a flyball/K type pitcher.
3Stand pat and wait till Cabrera or Fielder can DH. IE V-Mart moves on?
4Trade Cabrera,Fielder,or V-Mart, now and get a better infielder, like that going to happen. And really who could that really be, to play 3rd or 1st!

The answer is this real simple. Rumor has it the Cards are trying for Tulowitski, Porcello would be a fit out there, ground balls do not fly out often. Send the farm with him and win in 2013. now, rebuild next draft. Sell more pizza's pays Tulo's contract!!!! way more pizza's!

75% of the infield lacks range. Solving only 25% really doesn't do anything.

Tulowitzki is a good offensive player, who has only played 2 seasons out of the last 6 with at least 150-games played. He is due $144 Mil over the next 8 years ($155 Mil if his last year option is picked up). Add to it $2MIL more if he is traded.

He can only be traded once during his remaining contract. So, if DET (or any other team) does get him, they CANNOT trade him for the rest of his contract. PERIOD.

I would stay away for this last point alone. Add in his possible injury-risk and I certainly do not want him. Again, he is a great player when healthy and is most likely end up at another position long term (i.e. 3B, 1B or LF).
