Delmon Young MVP of ALCS

This is what he have to have happen to win a world series....get help from guys other than Prince and Miggy. Guys who who underachived all year have started playing well at the most important time...Delmon, Peralta, Coke and even Infante.

And the surprised, offensively IMO, Garcia. I didn't expect him to play as much as he did but had some big hits.

He's come up with some clutch hits, runs fast and plays good defense. He and Berry have helped us out a lot in spots this year. Welcome additions to the roster. No one misses Boesch and they can platoon spots depending on the lefty right matchup.

I still feel a bit bad for Boesch but they made the right decisions.

I feel bad because he's the anti-Inge.

Inge just shrugged and grinned while he sucked, and made excuses.

Boesch beat himself up to where they probably have him on A-D's now.

I'm eating crow due to all the shit I have talked about him all year.

But crow tastes like arbys curly fries, and the tigers are going to the world series.

good job delmon

honestly if i could have, i would have given it to the entire tigers rotation.

Not to downplay Delmon's 180, but yeah, the story in this years playoffs has been the starting pitching, hands down.

Yup. Our starters have a 1.02 era in these playoffs...lowest in post season history for 9 games. Until tonight we were averaging only 3.5 runs per game these playoffs.

He looks like a completely different guy at the plate, especially this series. He's been patient, not swinging at garbage, being more selective IN the strike zone looking for pitches he can drive. If this keeps up, it will be the biggest hustle job in MLB history. :p

And on the podium he even said I need to do this in the regular season... Glad he is hitting... Now it is time for Prince to have a big series...

So help me understand this....DY became the first player in postseason history to record 4 game winning rbi's in one series. He was responsible for making the score 1-0. We won 8-1. How is his rbi the game winning rbi?

Because the Tigers were never tied or behind after that. That's how they do it.

I would have given co_MVP to young and peralta. their efforts were equal. Phil coke had my second place vote
