According to a source, two teams no one has even mentioned as being interested are in fact deep in negotiations.

I doubt the Lions are in, but any guesses as to whom it might be?

St. Louis comes to mind. They would have the cap room, and Fischer has never been shy about taking on character concerns. See Pacman Jones.

Oakland, Cleveland?

Oakland has been rumored to be in the hunt, so that doesn't fit the statement that it's two teams no one has even mentioned.

I would think Cleveland might be a logical choice, but can't remember if anyone has reported them among the teams that has called him.

Patriots and Packers.

Makes sense for both. If the cap numbers I looked at are correct they could make it work.

Interesting. The Pack isn't really known for splashy free agent signings, but they broke out of that this season with Peppers. So maybe.

Patriots are an ideal fit. Bellicheck loves those reclamation projects, and they need a threat badly.

Really, any team could land Jackson if they structure the deal right. Even the Lions could afford him with our cap where it's at... just gotta be creative. I just don't think the Lions are players a day after Caldwell said he hadn't even been discussed.

Jackson caught 80+ balls for over 1300 yards last year......hardly a reclamation project.

I don't know if the cap numbers work, but I'd say San Fran. They badly need a deep threat.

Yep, I guess whoever the mystery teams were, they didn't get close enough.

Looks like Cleveland may have been one of the mystery teams. Rotoworld is reporting they are making an aggressive offer to D-Jax to try and sign him before Washington can.

That would be great for any Lions fans that want them to trade up to get Watkins. If the Browns do sign D-Jax they won't be taking Watkins. I am not in that boat....just pointing it out.

All I care about is landing an impact player at 10.

Watkins. Gilbert. Barr. All okay by me.

Those aren't the only players either. Like Mayhew said, there are not 10 elite players in this draft.. just find a way to get one of the ones that are elite.

well...it's the Redskins. On the field...I think D. Jax would look much better opposite CJ than Golden (shower) Tate! (Should be Chris Berman's name for him)
