Detroit Lions FA Thread

I see the same shit every year the NFL playoffs with the Lions sitting on their couches.
just like 19 other teams bro... you're making it sound like the Lions are the only team not in the playoffs.

Well you nailed our team culture for the last, oh, fifty years. We're not the only ones to suck, we just suck the hardest.

nobody's holding a gun to your head, forcing you to be a fan of this team/franchise...

I didn't know excepting reality and being a fan were mutually exclusive.

Who said Tate was the saviour?? Jesus Christ, man chill the fk out!! lol. He's a missing piece of the puzzle. I too think we still need a WR. We still have Durham and possibly Broyles. Not the most reliable.

theres a lot of people on here that think he was the best WR in FA. I think he'll be the same thing nate was (if were lucky) So we lost all our cap space and we are the same offense.

Nate was toast. All he provided was some vocal leadership. If we can get a 26 year old version of Nate that's all we need. I think Tate is better than Nate ever was athletically though.

i swear, we see the same shit every year... hughes throws a hissy fit and acts like a little bitch because he thinks that we should fill every hole on our roster in FA and draft only for depth.

as tony said... pieces of the puzzle, not the whole damn thing.

never said that. we see the same shit every year.....people see me throw a hissy fit so they start making up shit and saying things i never said. We shouldn't ever have to fill out the roster in FA. Good teams utilize the draft to make their team good...and then continue to draft well to have quality depth. Then after their rookie deals expire they sign their own to continue to grow.

Mayhew sucks in the draft and has holes all over the fucking place. So he is forced to use FA to plug some holes. Instead of doing that he overpays for a slot wr...again. Instead of drafting well he picks Pettigrew.....then resigns him lol....cause we have a culture of rewarding suck and failure. Hence we continue to suck and fail.

but does he make our offense better? Id argue we didn't need to spend in FA in order to better our already good offense.

Ok. So what if he was the best FA WR? Doesn't mean he's the saviour..lol.

And if you think Nate and Golden are the same, you're mistsken. Tate is fast, Nate is not. Tate is good in the open field, Nate was a posession WR. Tate blocks, Nate - cmon now. Tate plays STs, Nate doesn't. Tate breaks tackles, Nate does not. Tate catches everything, Nate doesn't. Tate has been healthy, Nate hasn't been close.

Add that we have a new OC who is salivating on his shoes and this isn't close to the same offense.

So this past draft means nothing?

Tate is a big upgrade from Nate. Yac and missed tackles and hands. Plus health history. Nate missed 16 of the last 32 games. Upgraded offense with Tate and coaching. Maybe some fauria development too. And waddle for 16 games instead of only 7 games. And stafford with a qb development coaching staff.

Stafford has more gurus than the f'ing Beatles.

Fox wont get injured. Broyles will contribute. Blah blah blah.

You guys actually think mayhew put thought into the Tate signing and how hes a fit? This is how it went down. Late one night while watching YouTube mayhew thought to himself "i lost nate....must make up for loss....tate....rhymes with nate (insert monkey noise here)"

Although I disagree on Tate. I laughed my ass off. I also would have went with he misspelled Nate when putting his name into YouTube.
