Detroit Lions FA Thread

S Thomas DeCoud visiting. He was decent in 2012. PFF worst ranked saftey in 2013. Ihedigbo reported still in play but has received other offers according to the Ravens, the Ravens are moving on though.

Teams NEVER fill all the holes. It's literally impossible.......

Only the dummies don't get it.

especially when you spend all your money on 1 guy....makes it literally impossible to EVER fill your holes when you spend all your money on 1 guy. Only dummies spend all their money on 1 starter when they have holes everywhere and major depth concerns.

Pettigrew to keep TE from being a hole and backup RB who plays alot. You build through the draft. Lions dont' have many holes. Safety, which still could be filled in free agency and another WR and backup QB (also could be filled in free agency) are the holes. That is really the Lions only holes. And if they fill safety in free agency, you could go CB though it's doesn't have a hole IMO, Houston and Slay and Bentley address it just fine.
Cromartie was worse than Houston and Shields and Davis got overpaid.

we have 1 new starter on our team. you can try to justify it however you want. we still have 1 new starter on our team and not enough cap space to sign our draft picks.

Houston reverts back to 2011 form, Slay Develops, less drops, less INTs, defense creates turnovers, replace Delmas, draft stud WR, less fumbles, Stafford reverts back to 2011 form. Playoff team and SB contender. Team is loaded with talent...SB talent!!!

biggest starting need now is in the Secondary. Ihedigbo is still mulling detroit's offer according to ESPN

The Lions, lying in wait for the new year ...

While the Detroit Lions wait to hear from the one free agent safety who visited Allen Park, Mich., James Ihedigbo, the team is starting to look into other options to replace Louis Delmas.

According to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, Thomas DeCoud is going to visit the Lions on Friday.

DeCoud was the No. 98 pick of the 2008 draft by Atlanta out of California. He played in 89 games for the Falcons, producing 368 tackles, 14 interceptions and three sacks. He was released by Atlanta at the start of the league year.

He made $2.5 million against the cap in 2013 and $1.9 million in cash value.

And now, a look around the Interwebs in search of Lions news:
Defensive end Larry Webster visited the Lions on Thursday. Why the Lions could move up or down in the draft. A look at Jed Collins' contract.
Former Michigan tackle Taylor Lewan is facing assault charges.
Titus Young is close to a plea agreement, writes David Leon Moore of USA Today.
The Lions have options at safety even if they don't draft one early, writes Kyle Meinke of MLive.

After the draft verterans are released giving another chance to fill holes. Still have plenty of options.

also if they can get Suh taken care off that opens up more money. MAyhew is playing it smart and not trying to overspend for players detroit doesn't need that badly. I mean 12 Million for Revis? come on!!!!!!

There are still plenty of Veterans available right now at both safety and WR. No team is 100% set at all positions before the draft. Pick up a Safety, WR and DE before the start of the season and I will be ok.

ya ya lkp, we know. WRs catch the ball then run. more broken tackles will equate to more touchdowns. Less wind. Most talented team in the NFL.....devin taylor is better than LT ever was.

We have a draft and free agency isn't over yet. They have the ability to creat more cap space for free agents and the draft picks (about 2.5 million in room for draft picks due to top 51 rule). Chris Clemons visiting today. They're getting a free agent safety. This team didn't need to fill holes other than 2 more. They are almost holeless other than safety and one more WR. That is a fact. They upgrade the coaching and are talented enough to win double digit games. We didn't need sweeping player changers.

Hughes wants Cromartie back to 2012 form. Houston was better than Cromartie in 2011 and 2012. Houston is more likely than Cromartie to rebound. And Slay is in year 2. Hughes said it himself, he has Gilbert's skillset.

Houston wasn't better than anyone in the league last year. I do think we have enough depth that it shouldn't be an immediate need unless you get a chance to better the position like Gilbert would. We have enough mediocre corners and more pressing needs.
