Detroit Lions Podcast Episode 158 ? Interview With Lions Great Billy Sims. 46 minutes.
In this episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris runs solo as Case had a last minute commitment take him out, and the Riz is still trying to find one of his lungs after running a 5K today. No worries, much like Matthew Stafford, Chris bravely takes on the vast responsibility of hosting this week?s show fearlessly and flawlessly?
A couple of important items come up at the beginning of the show. First ? Fantasy Football registration is now fully open and ready for you to seize upon. There are a limited number of spots available, and getting involved early is your key to holding a spot and taking a shot at the cash. Also, we are adding a very nice prize to the mix. There are a few details that need to work themselves out before we can specifically say what it is, but suffice it to say ? it?s pretty kick ass. More on that very soon.
Another key point of interest is that it?s time for you to ?save the date? for the Second Annual Detroit Lions Podcast Training Camp Party. We will be getting everyone together with food, drink and a grand party while we stream a live podcast episode with Chris, Jeff Risdon, Erik Schlitt, and Sandman. There will be auction items, raffle items, and a number of special guests. This year?s party is a can?t miss event, and will be open to a limited number of people. Registration will be open soon, and we?ll announce it on the podcast. You can also keep checking the website to see when the registration page opens.
Lastly, we bring you our AMA and interview with Billy Sims. Billy opens up about some key parts of his life and provides insight on a number of questions that we?ve all had about his career and afterward. He also discusses how he got into football, his favorite sport, Barry Sanders, and how he chose his jersey number. Of course we go into the Kung Fu kick that he is so famous for, as well as some insight into how that play connects to a particular ?woman of interest?. It?s a great interview and as a result you?ll recognize how great a guy Billy Sims is and will lament losing such a great player so quickly to injury as much as Chris does.
