The Lions also placed rookie fullback Nick Bawden on injured reserve and wide receiver Andy Jones on PUP. Bawden tore his ACL in a June OTA.

To fill Bawden?s roster spot, the Lions signed linebacker Freddie Bishop.

Bishop spent the past two seasons with the New York Jets, appearing in five games in 2017 with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery. Prior to New York, Bishop played three seasons in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders.

This is Bishop?s second stint with the Lions. He signed with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Western Michigan in 2013.
