Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Dan Orlovsky breaks down Brock Osweiler?s weaknesses.
The former Lions quarterback breaks down Osweiler?s game so we don?t have to.
Now that the Miami Dolphins have declared Ryan Tannehill out for their Week 6 game, the Detroit Lions can focus their film study on Brock Osweiler.
Osweiler doesn?t bring the mobility that Tannehill does and has a much worse reputation than the Dolphins? first-string quarterback.

Former Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky joined DetroitLions.com?s Mike O?Hara to take a closer look at Osweiler?s game and where he?s vulnerable for the Lions:

?I do believe the throwing motion is something that the Lions can key on,? Orlovsky states.

Specifically, Orlovsky believes Osweiler tips off the play with a long throwing motion and poor body posture.

?When he?s actually going to throw it and it's coming out of his hands, it takes
a long time,? Orlovsky said. ?He?s deliberate with his body, he?s deliberate with his eyes, and he?s deliberate with the motion.?

The former Lions quarterback thinks guys like Glover Quin and Darius Slay,
who thrive off trusting their instincts, may be able to take advantage of that on Sunday.

Michigan-Michigan State is full of NFL prospects.
Lions scouts are in attendance - who are some of the prospects to keep an eye out for?
With the highly anticipated Michigan versus Michigan State football game happening this weekend, NFL teams are preparing themselves for the future.
A plethora of scouts will be in attendance, including the Detroit Lions:
Live scouting at the Michigan-Michigan State game tomorrow:#Lions #Panthers#Steelers#Browns #49ers #Vikings#Dolphins#Bills

This game will be brimming with NFL talent. The Lions will surely be interested in the front seven for each team. The Wolverines are headlined by defensive lineman Rashan Gary and edge rusher Chase Winovich. Both could be early round targets for the Lions if they opt to go local. Elsewhere on defense, Michigan boasts defensive tackle Bryan Mone, linebacker Devin Bush, cornerback Lavert Hill and safety Khaleke Hudson.

Michigan State?s defense features defensive tackle Raequan Williams, linebacker Joe Bachie, cornerback Justin Layne and safety David Dowell.

While the Lions might not be interested in early-round offensive players, this game does feature some prospects with mid-to-late round potential.
At quarterback, Michigan?s Shea Patterson and Michigan State?s Brian Lewerke could be developmental quarterbacks for the Lions to target.

Running backs Karan Higdon (Michigan) and LJ Scott (Michigan State) could have a future in the NFL, though maybe not with the Lions. Michigan State?s Felton Davis headlines the receivers, and tight ends Zach Gentry for Michigan and Matt Sokol for Michigan State are both NFL-caliber prospects.

On the offensive line, Michigan?s Ben Bredeson and Michigan State?s David Beedle are decent guard prospects.
