Many of Detroit's weaknesses in the Lions' three losses this year showed up in the first half Sunday against Seattle. Special teams was poor, with a lost Ameer Abdullah fumble on a kick return and a rare Sam Martin punt touchback.
The run defense, even with Damon Harrison, couldn't do much, allowing 95 yards (5.0 yards per carry). The pass defense wasn't much better, as Russell Wilson had more touchdowns (three) than incompletions (one).
Even Matthew Stafford seemed off, missing a couple of open receivers on throws that would have led to big gains. Rough first half for a Lions team that needs this game before heading into a very difficult November schedule.

Sunday against the Seahawks was a test of sorts for Detroit. At home, against a team pretty close to their equal, how could they handle it. The answer? Not well.
Detroit was outplayed in every facet during its 28-14 loss to Seattle. The same old issues popped up again (poor run defense, offensive drives stalling out, special teams gaffes aplenty) and that's a really troubling thing for the Lions, who now have five straight games against teams over-.500.

Didn't notice this initially (thanks to some Twitter followers who pointed it out post-game) but left tackle Taylor Decker left the game at the start of the Lions' second-to-last drive (at 4:44 left in the game). It didn't seem like there was an injury on the series before and no injury was announced in the press box. He was replaced by rookie Tyrell Crosby. Crosby actually hung in there pretty well facing Frank Clark.

The discrimination lawsuit that was filed by two ex-video department staffers against the Detroit Lions earlier this year is scheduled to head to arbitration, according to the attorney for the plaintiffs. Robert Yanagi and Michael Richardson sued the Lions and the NFL alleging age and racial discrimination after they were let go in January by the Lions. In doing this, there has been an attorney hired to serve as the arbitrator for the case -- one that will now be bound by rules of JAMS (an arbitration/mediation company) instead of court rules.

Matt Patricia said they are in a "day by day" situation with Ezekiel Ansah at this point and they are in great communication with him. Asked if he needs to practice fully at this point: "I try to put them out at practice whenever we can to make sure they can perform their task at the best of their ability and certainly someone that maybe hasn't that many opportunities to go practice would need to go out and practice to show us that he can do that. There's also a football stamina that's built up with that, too, through maybe a couple weeks or a couple days or whatever it may be. As soon as he's ready to go out there in a game, we'll put him out there in that situation and hopefully he can go perform."

Hightower was limited all week with knee, however. We?ll see what happens.
