Detroit didn't spend a selection on a running back in the 2017 NFL Draft, but they could be looking to add a veteran late in free agency.

Lions cut CB Ian Wells to help make room for Teez Tabor, Jamal Agnew.

The Lions announced they waived CB Ian Wells. He was an undrafted rookie last year and tore his ACL in joint practices with Pittsburgh.
The Lions had a failed physical designation for released CB Ian Wells on the official transaction wire. He was injured in August during joint practices with Pittsburgh. The undrafted free agent from Ohio never appeared in a game with Detroit.

Eric Ebron?s fifth-year option picked up by the Lions.
SideLionReport

The Lions picked up TE Eric Ebron's fifth-year option this morning. On 97.1 FM in Detroit, Quinn explained why the process took so long: "I think that's part of my job, to keep every possible option open on any part of this organization. The draft is obviously a big event to add talent to the team so I think the league rules put that May 2 date in there for a reason, it's not just an arbitrary day. I think they do that a couple days after the draft for a reason, to give teams time to evaluate what they get in the draft and then make a decision on their former first round picks. This is something we've thought about, talked about internally here obviously since the end of the season and I kind of had my mind made up probably last week at some point but I wanted to get through the draft and see. You never know what can happen through the draft and what kind of players could slip to you."
