Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Jim Caldwell praised Cornelius Washington's power over the span of three questions during his press conference today. Washington, who started his career with the Bears, should have a prominent role against Chicago on Sunday. He has 10 tackles and two sacks this year -- four of those tackles and both sacks coming last week against Cleveland.

Jim Caldwell said he's not certain Jamal Agnew -- who is a returner and cornerback -- has a ceiling as an offensive player. He's played more offensive snaps than defensive snaps this season. Caldwell said he doesn't see him becoming a full-time offensive player, but you never say never. He then praised Agnew's ability as a cornerback but said Quandre Diggs is just playing really well.

No Ezekiel Ansah or Dwayne Washington at Lions practice again Friday. Doesn't bode well for either one for Sunday against the Bears.

One NFL film analyst believes Stafford has been among the league?s elite this year.
MMQB?s Andy Benoit does a weekly film review of every NFL game on Twitter, and he made a bold proclamation while watching the Detroit Lions vs. Cleveland Browns game.
The stats don?t really back up Benoit?s claim of Stafford being a top three quarterback, but Stafford has been on fire as of late (111.6 passer rating in last three games).
