If Miggy doesn't play at all tonight, he'll already have missed more games than in 2011 or 2012, and matched 2nd-most games missed in DET uniiform.
Most he's missed in his time in Detroit: 12 games in 2010 end of season, when he was shut down in Sept. after a high ankle sprain.
points out how incredibly durable the big man, Miguel Cabrera, has been for the Tigers.

ESPN?s Jerry Crasnick reported that Braves checked on the availability of Tigers' Phil Coke, but that was all.

Infante, Downs set to go on rehab assignments.
Omar Infante appears to be on his way to West Michigan for a rehab assignment with the Tigers' Class A club, and it appears reliever Darin Downs will be joining him.

Infante has been on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained ankle sustained on July 3, and the Tigers were waiting to check with him on Tuesday to see if he was ready to make the trip.

Infante said he's "almost there," but he wants to be able to take batting practice, field grounders and run at full speed. He expects the rehab stint to only last a few days.

"If everything's OK today, he's going to depart for West Michigan tomorrow, because they're home," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. "And if he thinks he's OK and everything, he could possibly join us this weekend. That's the scenario we're hoping for."

Leyland said the Tigers primarily wanted to see how Infante would feel Tuesday after a full day of moving around and taking ground balls Monday.

Downs is on the 15-day DL with tendinitis in his left rotator cuff.

Miggy sits out Tuesday night with nagging hip soreness.
Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera was held out of the starting lineup on Tuesday after aggravating a bothersome left hip flexor muscle on Monday night.

"He's not playing. I'll leave it at that," Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. "He's not playing tonight. That's all I can tell you."

The Tigers skipper declined to comment on the prospect of Cabrera landing on the disabled list, or the concern moving forward. Don Kelly was playing third base and left fielder Matt Tuiasosopo was batting third against the White Sox.

Cabrera entered the day leading the Majors with a .358 batting average, and was in the top two in the American League's three Triple Crown categories (second in home runs with 31, and second in RBIs with 96).

The reigning American League MVP left in the bottom of the fifth inning of Monday's game after scoring gingerly from second base on a Victor Martinez RBI single. He had a conversation with head athletic trainer Kevin Rand in the dugout before taking his position in the field, where he looked uncomfortable for two batters -- Adam Dunn singled past him in the first at-bat of the inning -- before leaving.

"It felt weird," Cabrera said Monday. "It felt real weird. That base hit that Victor had, I tried to pick it up a little bit from second to home. That's why I had to go out."

The issue has been nagging Cabrera for some time, and evidently has not had much time to heal. But he has a history of durability. He's played at least 150 games in each season he's been in the Majors since his rookie year in 2003.

"He won't be out long," outfielder Torii Hunter said. "I definitely think if we need to rest him a little bit, a couple days, then we have to do that. We need him for the long run and if it takes a couple days to get him where he needs to be, then we'll do it."

Tigers have played just 21G (of 1,010) w/o Miggy since 2008, and are 11-10, winning last 4 — http://bit.ly/15GxgO5 pic.twitter.com/Wlb0Adq5fZ

Leyland was asked if he thought Miguel Cabrera could require a trip to the disabled list. Leyland: "I do not."

The Tigers play a night game Wednesday and a day game Thursday. Leyland referenced that when he said Cabrera won't play both.

Miguel Cabrera said he felt better and was relieved by that. No tests done.

Tigers Leyland about Cabrera: Could play 1 of next 2 games but not both (and maybe neither), but does not see it the injury as a DL case.

Jim Leyland says Miguel Cabrera might play in one of next two games, does not expect him to land on DL.
