The Tigers have recalled right-hander Buck Farmer from Triple-A Toledo and optioned righty Drew VerHagen, per Jason Beck. Farmer has already accrued 8 1/3 impressive innings for the Tigers this season and logged a 2.16 ERA, 10.8 K/9 and 3.24 BB/9. VerHagen threw an inning for the club Sunday and allowed two earned runs, giving him a 7.11 ERA in 19 frames this year.

Lolich's mark breaks the record of 15 set by Paul Foytack in 1956. Lolich's record was broken the 2013 season by Anibal Sanchez with 17 Strikeouts.

Detroit has now won 16 straight on the road to tie the American League record of the 1912 Senators. The win goes to Petry. Tigers' Alex Wilson: May have turned corner with minor mechanical fix.
Wilson, who has struggled lately, may have turned a corner with three groundouts in the ninth inning Sunday. He recently made a "minor adjustment" in his mechanics, reports the Detroit Free Press.

Wilson adjusted his mechanics late last season to protect what he called a "barking" shoulder. It was only when he sat down with pitching coach Rich Dubee that he noticed his pitching hand was closer to his head than this time last season. "Today, I moved it out and it felt free and easy," Wilson said. "Probably the best I've felt this year." He may provide some value to deep formats that count holds.
