The worst possible outcome from this week's Baltimore-Toronto series, from the Tigers' perspective, was the Orioles winning two out of three. That's exactly what happened.

The Tigers enter the final weekend of the regular season with a 30-percent chance of claiming an American League wild-card spot, according to Fivethirtyeight.com. They are 1 1/2 games behind the Orioles (77 percent) and Blue Jays (76 percent) in the race for two available spots.

The Tigers and Indians have their 162nd game, if necessary for playoff purposes, scheduled for 1:10 p.m. Monday game at Comerica Park. If the game is not played, it would be the seventh time since baseball expanded the schedule in 1961 that the Tigers did not play 162 games (1962, 1979, 1985, 1999, 2002, 2015).

If there's a Tigers-Indians game on Monday, it'll be a 1:10pm ET start.

Michael Fulmer would start a makeup game Monday against Cleveland, according to Brad Ausmus. After that, it's TBD, much like the schedule.

October 1 in Tigers and mlb history:

1944 at Briggs Stadium: Last-place Washington beats Detroit 4-1, depriving the Tigers of a tie for the pennant with St. Louis.

1967 at Tiger Stadium: On the final day of the season, California defeats Detroit 8-5, in the second game of a doubleheader to dash the Tigers? hopes of tying Boston for the pennant.

1988 at Tiger Stadium: The Tigers hold their first Fan Appreciation Day.

2012: The champagne also flows in Kansas City, MO, where the Tigers defeat the Royals, 6 - 3, to clinch the AL Central title. Miguel Cabrera hits his 44th home run in the game. In deference to their star slugger, who is leading the AL in all three triple crown categories but who has had trouble with alcohol abuse in the past, the Tigers choose to celebrate with an alcohol-free bubbly.
