Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Tigers salvage one in Chicago beat White Sox 5-2. Porcello excellent again - 7.2IP, 1ER on 5H, 0BB/4K...stuff was good all day.

Laird - starting for a banged-up Avila - gave Tigers 1-0 lead w/ long HR off Sale in 3rd. Tigers added runs on wild pitches in 5th & 6th.

Porcello - mixing his pitches beautifully - kept Sox off balance thru 7IP, giving up just 3H. Then gave up Viciedo HR in 8th to make it 3-1.

Escobar single after HR made it 3 hard-hit balls in a row, so Leyland went to Benoit, who walked De Aza on 4 pitches to put two on..

But Benoit then K'd Morel to end 8th. Tigers scored two in 9th on RBI singles from Santiago and Fielder to make it 5-1...

Sox scored on Dunn double (wind-blown?), and Pierzynski single....Valverde then K'd Viciedo with 2 on to end game.

Tigers move back into first with win at 6-3, half-game ahead of Sox. Porcello gets first win for a Tigers starter in 2012.

Porcello in 2 games has pitched 14.2IP, allowed just 3ER, 12H, 1BB/8K.
Laird finishes 3-4 with HR, double and single.

STUFF is what stood out today for Porcello - sinker at 91-92, 4 seam fastball at 93-94, +improved changeup, effective slider. Fun to watch.
