Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

Key stat on Tigers: 5.77 IP per start this year, down from 6.12 last year. A difference of 1 out ? ?huge,? Jim Leyland said yesterday.

Answering a question, yes, JV's first few starts for Tigers were nearly as rough as Jacob Turner's, and he was 2 years older.

JV in 2005: 2 starts, 11.1 IP, 15 H, 9 ER (7.15 ERA).
JV through first five career starts: 28 IP, 19 ER (6.10 ERA), 29 H.

Jacob Turner through five career starts: 19.2 IP, 27 H, 20 ER (9.15 ERA), 12 K, 11 BB.

Biggest difference was JV's 7 shutout innings vs. Texas in his first start in 2006, when he got his first career win.

Not saying JT = JV but: "Normally, the ones that are going to get it, they get it, and they figure it out it tough situations". ? Avila

Jacob Turner is listed as the Tigers probable starter for Sunday.
The White Sox, ironically, have a TBA listed.

Tigers are talking to the Marlins about a trade for Omar Infante.
It makes sense for the Tigers, as Infante would be a clear upgrade at second base. The 30-year-old is hitting .284/.309/.448 with eight home runs, 33 RBI and a .757 OPS this season and is solid defensively. He is under contract for $4 million next year.
