Tigers‬ beat Angels, 7-2 - Tigers score all 7R off CJ Wilson, and Fister pitches an absolute gem for the 2nd straight start.

Wilson had only allowed more than 3ER once in 19GS, but ‪Tigers‬ scored 1 in first, 4R in 2nd, and that was more than enough for Fister...

Pujols gave Angels 1-0 lead w/ long HR in first, but ‪Tigers‬ came right back with 2-out RBI single from Young to make it 1-1 in bot. 1st.

In 2nd, ‪Tigers‬ loaded bases...w/ 1 out, Raburn singled, Cabrera GB made it 3-1, then Fielder delivered 2 runs w/ line drive single to CF...

Tigers‬ tacked on 2 more runs on Boesch 2-out, 2-run double in 5th....‪Tigers‬ scored 5R on 2-out hits...20 of 32R since break on 2-out hits.

LHB were hitting .180 vs. Wilson going into gm...Boesch had 2 line-drive doubles off him, and Fielder had two line-drive singles.

Fister gave up HR to Pujols in first, then just 2BB and 1 soft single the next 8 innings. Final line: 8IP, 3H, 1ER, 2BB/10K, now 4-6 w/ win.

Strikeout total was 2nd-highest of career (13K vs. Clev. last year)...last two starts, Fister has allowed 5H in 16IP, 2ER, 2BB and 18K.

Boesch last 9G: .417 (15-36) with 5 doubles, 2HR and 11RBI.
Young has 10G hit streak, and has hit .324 last 17G (23-71) with 5HR and 14RBI.

Doug Fister was fantastic Wednesday, striking out 10 while tossing eight innings of one-run ball on just two hits and two walks in a 7-2 win over the Angels.
It would be an impressive outing against anyone, but it's especially that against a red-hot Angels lineup. Fister has now given up just two runs and allowed only seven runners to reach base over his first 15 innings to kick off the second half. He's also recorded 18 strikeouts. The tall right-hander will carry an improving 4.04 ERA and 1.26 WHIP into next week's start in Cleveland.
