Detroit Tigers Team Notes Over 3 Million Views!!! Thankyou!

The Tigers aren't interested in Rafael Soriano and plan to stay in-house to find their closer, says Danny Knobler of CBSSports. Right-hander Bruce Rondon 21, will get a chance at the job.

Bruce Rondon May Be Given a Chance to Disappoint.
from walkoffwoodwardtigersblog

This was originally posted back on the 13th of August when rumors began circulating of Bruce Rondon’s name being tossed in the hat of players who could be brought up in September. In the end he was not called up but it was not a decision made lightly, a fact that was brought to light in the post post season comments (as in, in his interview about the direction of the Tigers held after the post season ended) Dave Dombrowski held a few weeks ago. In them he said that if they knew Jose Valverde would implode like he did they would have brought Rondon up so he could be utilized on the postseason roster (I mean duh, we all knew that the Hot Potato would blow up, seriously). Then he went on to say that Rondon will be in the mix to close this year, as in 2013, which takes place after the winter meetings, the new year, and the World Baseball Classic.

If Bonderman has a contract offer from Tigers, it seems to be news to him. But he cautioned he's leaving contract matters to his agent.
Bonderman: "I'm just seeing what's out there right now. But I have talked to Detroit."
Keep in mind, Tigers had a standing offer of a minor-league deal with camp invite to Bonderman two offseasons ago.

November 10 in Tigers and mlb history:

1888 - In Detroit, MI, a club is organized to compete in the International Association next season to take the place of the disbanded Detroit Wolverines, fifth-place finishers this past season in the National League. The Wolverines sell off their stars, including Big Sam Thompson going to the Philadelphia Quakers, and the so-called "Big Four" Dan Brouthers and Hardy Richardson to the Boston Beaneaters and Jack Rowe and Deacon White to the Pittsburgh Alleghenys.

1948 - In a move that will give them a pitching ace for the next decade, the Chicago White Sox acquire young lefthander Billy Pierce from the Detroit Tigers for All-Star catcher Aaron Robinson. The Tigers even sweeten the deal with $10,000. Pierce will win 186 games for the White Sox over the next 13 years. Robinson will last fewer than three seasons in Detroit.

This is speculation: I think Torii Hunter would be a really nice addition for Detroit. Very good OFer, short-term deal, great clubhouse addition.

Apparently the Tigers have contacted Torii Hunter. He's the type of player they need, but he's 37 and he could be another Damon.
Torii's BABIP is as much cause for concern of regression as Melky's PED issue, but Hunter >>>> Damon, IMO. .350 wOBA last 3 yrs.
Hunter's K%, BB%, ISO also regressed in 2012. The good thing is that he is a better defender than Damon.
