Would look pretty nice in LF, I wonder if a trade of porcello or smyly+ dirks and peralta could get the deal done for him and ruteledge. Would upgrade the of defense and infield defense with a potentially better offense. Fowler's road stats leave much to be desired (his .362 obp on the road is still .340, but his power drops off dramatically, he actually did better on the road then at home in 2011 which is weird) but his defense is far superior to that of dirks which is essential to the tigers LF. And he is a righty that hits both righties and lefties well. ruteledge would be the Tigers SS of the future. Rockies get SP help they desperately need and a couple cheap major leaugers to boot. I'd say its a win-win trade.

Fowler is starting to run into the stigma of not developing as soon as the Rockies had expected and still hasn't adjusted to the MLB offspeed pitches quite yet...

Dexter Fowler career away:

.248/.331/.367/.698, .312 wOBA, 79 wRC+

basically ALL of his offense is a product of Coors field (as his career .882 home OPS shows.) no thanks.

He's a gap (switch) hitter who can't hit a good MLB curveball but who is fast in the outfield and can cover ground. The flipside to the often exaggerated claims about Coors Field is that you have to field a defense and pitching staff for 81 games too and Fowler could actually cover the alleys at Coors (versus a line up of Dante Bichette, Larry Walker and the other beer leaguers the team used to be stocked with).

The Rockies ownership sucks ass. The Monfort family made its money in slaughterhouses and meat-packing plants and maintain a weird, overriding "Christian" image and don't pay jack shit.

They should be relegated to AAA for next year based on the 2012 season.

.701 Away OPS last 3 years

-10.1 UZR/150 last 3 years

Keep throwing names out there mrclean, eventually you might get one worth something.

Why is Dirks the topic of trades for players who are inferior to him? I like the guy. Let's let him let himself help the team.

Fowler= Milt Culyer and his well combed hair....

This post reminded me of of the formerly notorious ESPN Detroit Tigers messageboard lurker-troller TROLPO, although I later back-tracked and read a few posts that he made on another ESPN NBA messageboard regarding the Timberwolves several years ago, after I clicked on his SN, where he replied rationally and seriously, so he might have been, and probably is or was a Minny sportsfan. TROLPO also actually had sponsored Milt Cuyler's Baseball Reference webpage for a year or so.
