yep, the Lions need one to get to the postseason. But is it really that far fetched?? It could be possible to get in at 8-8...of course, only one loss from here on out.
we need a 1997 finish

current standings for last wildcard spot

**Minn: 6-5....games remaining @GB, Chi, @Stl, @Hou, GB...dam they could end up 7-9

TB: 6-5(3-5, conf)......@Den, Phil, @NO, @Atl, Stl......8-8??? bad conf record..(5-7??)

*Sea: 6-5....@Chi, AZ, @Balt, SF, Stl.........8-8????

Wash: 5-6(5-4).....NYG, Balt., @Clev, @Phil, Dal....... 7-9???????

Dallas: 5-6(4-5).....Phil, @Cin, Pitt, NO, @Wash.......7-9????

NO: 5-6(3-4)........@Atl., @NYG, TB, @Dall, Car.......7-9?????

Tampa might be the hardest one to overcome.....I think they would get us on common games in a tiebreaker unless they drop games to Phil & Sea at home...unlikley

** loss head to head tiebreaker
* win head to head tiebreaker

oh well.....just trying to keep hope alive

I'm sure it took you a while to figure all of that out.....I think you wasted your time. The Lions are as done as the turkey on Christmas Vacation.

Yeah Minny has to be 7-9 for an 8-8 scenario to work for Detroit. I think they'll beat Chicago or Green Bay at home and beat the Rams.

Tampa common games if they lost to Atlanta twice and Lions beat Atlanta, we lost to Minny twice, Bucs beat Vikings, Bucs beat Rams and Eagles, Lions beat Rams and Eagles. Don't see any other common games so it's tied common games if Bucs lose to Falcons again and Lions beat Falcons(which they will have too).

Saints/Cowboys/Redskins it will be tough to get them all to 7-9. Especially since they play each other. A 6th win for one team in those 2 games at least but also another loss for one team.

9-7 nobody believes that even though the Lions are a streaky team but right now have lost 3 in a row. They might start believing if we win this week and then win at Lambeau. But winning at Lambeau I won't hold my breath until I see it happen. It's been over 20 years.

They would have to do something that they have done maybe once since all of last year and this year so far; beat teams with winning records. Not only that, but going on a winning streak against winning teams. The only one I can remember to date is the seahawks. I just don't see it happening. More like losing more games against the good teams in heartbreaking fashion and the team being fired up for next year (standard issue lions football).

I hope these rookie corners work out and pettigrew is gone (he makes a case for single-handedly losing two games this year because of fumbles where a guy simply comes up and takes it out of his hands >:-( ) for next year. I think they'll find a way to get to 6-10 though.
