OH 4 Star Dowell twins flip to MSU

Wow. This is out of nowhere. Both 4 star athletes on Rivals. Could play RB/S/CB.

We probably have 1 or two spots left. Quarte Sapp and/or a DE.

Great get(s), Sparty. Strong players and solid kids coming out of a top notch program.

Didn't even know they were on our radar. Nice surprise. Seem like the types of versatile athletes Coach D covets. Excellent to flip two solid players from an SEC team a week before signing day. Sounds like both might start out on the D with one getting a look at WR.

It was only Kentucky and they didn't have any offers from real SEC (or B1G programs) but that said, they probably hurt themselves a bit w/ elite teams by making themselves a package deal. Also, while promising with just a week to go before signing day, MSU is the third school these guys have committed to - they were first verbals to Northwestern, then Kentucky, now MSU. But we have a need so if they come and either or both turn out to be legit CB or safeties, I'll take it.

David is especially intriguing. He's slightly higher rated and at 6-2 will play corner back or WR. Had offers from Tennessee, Wisky, Vandy, WVU and others. Not that I have a clue how to evaluate high school film, but his looks outstanding to me and he played on one of the best teams in Ohio who played against some of the elite teams in the state. Likes tom play press as a corner and looks very fluid.

Andrew is bigger and will be a RB or LB, he has some highlights against Cincy Moeller where he is running over future D1 players as a RB.

These are two very nice recruits to add this late in the process. Hearing that Quarte Sapp is no longer being recruited by MSU.

The class stands at 18. DEs Cassius Peat or Mufi Hunt may take the final spot. Peat may take an official this week and Hunt is ready to commit as long as he decides not to take a 2 year Mormon mission.

Typical Mark Dantonio class. Lots of versatility and lots of speed. Several team captains and mostly very good students. There are a couple of really special leaders off the field in this class in Khari Willis and Tyriq Thompson, both are driven to lead. Dantonio always seems to bring in 1 or 2 of these types of kids a class.

IF they are good why would a school not want both? Something is going on with these guys if they are as good as Rivals says.

That's what I'm saying - at best, one of them is elite school good but not both and w/ limited scholarships elite schools may shy away from them if they're committed to playing college ball together. If they were both elite they would be getting recruited by top tier programs. Another explanation could be that they're ratings have been going up, maybe they just got bumped from 3 to 4 stars and as 3s maybe they weren't on the radar of better schools. who knows?

Well, they're on the radar of one of the best schools, MSU, and that's all that matters. Better schools? What does that mean anyway?

Maybe it was a poor choice of words but the point should be obvious. I'm talking about schools who consistently land recruiting classes ranked in the top 10 year in and year out, schools that are on the shortlist of most elite recruits and land a bunch of them, schools that win championships or are consistently talked about as a contender, schools that are consistently ranked in the top 10, etc. Let's not fool ourselves. I'm a Spartan fan first and foremost and we've had a lot of success lately but we're not one of those schools.

it kills me that they committed to Northwestern, then Kentucky, then MSU. at this stage of the game it's unlikely that they go anywhere else but I just don't like it when kids can't make a decision and stick to it.
