Tigers 2024-2025 Offseason: Trades, Free Agents, Call ups, Rule 5, tender, non-tender, Awards

Scott Harris said the Tigers are still looking for position player and bullpen upgrades this offseason.Harris: "We're not done. We're going to try to find new ways to make this team better. There are a number of ways we can do it — free agency, trade, waiver claims."

so signing Keith to be your long term 2B and move him to 1B after only one year is a win? Spending $15M on a stopgap 2B that is just as bad defensively as the guy you removed from 2B because his D sucks, is a win? I just read that the TB Rays signed that gold glove SS/2B Kim to a 2 year deal for $29M. He is recovering from an injury and will likely be delayed until May, but that sure sounds like a better plan than Torres. There were a bunch of pitchers that signed over the winter that I liked better than Cobb. That said, I'm not paid the huge salary that Harris is getting, nor do I have the time or resources at my disposal to give you a good answer to what and who do I want...that's his job. I just think he has done a poor job this off season.
Because defense doesn't change, bad for bad. It gets Tork of the lineup, that's the win. We didn't sign Keith to be a 2B but a ML player. Weather he's at 1B, 2B or LF it doesn't really matter. You also assume Kim would come here, why? Because of Detroit, maybe our history? And you say the RP is a terrible sign because he has injury history yet you want to sign a 2B who can't play right away? And who are these pitchers that would all come here? It's fkn Detroit. I mean I don't live in Michigan anymore but where's the appeal of playing in Detroit? The whole sports town has always had trouble attracting good players, Lions-Wings-Pistons-Tigers. Either overpay, which you hate or you trade for them and they don't have a choice. Stars are not coming here, mids are not coming here. We have to get a 1 year guys or risk reward or overpay.

I tried to answer your question. Like I said, I'm not the GM and I don't have the resources that he has. All we can do is react to what he does, and I think he has done a shitty job this off season.

You keep up with this "nobody wants to come to detroit" nonsense. Where is your proof to this???

Didn't mean any offense. I just got carried away, sorry,
