Pride Of Detroit Lions Podcast: Breaking down 3 mock draft possibilities for the Detroit Lions. 56 minutes.
What could happen if the Lions traded out of the top 10?

While Matthew Stafford madness continues for the umpteenth consecutive offseason, we here at Pride of Detroit are moving on to other things that carry limited value: MOCK DRAFTS!

Mock drafts have become fairly boring as of recently, as the Jeff Okudah hype has reached peak levels. Everyone is slotting him to Detroit?whether it?s at three or at five?and while it makes complete logical sense (unlike Stafford nonsense), it?s gotten a bit dry.

So this week on our First Byte PODcast, we decided to create three different mock draft scenarios for the Detroit Lions. In the first, we stayed put with the third overall pick. In the second, we traded back with the Dolphins to see what we could get. In the final scenario, we traded all the way out of the top 10 in the draft. And for all three mock drafts?which were conducted using The Draft Network?s Mock Draft Machine?we went three rounds deep to really see how the trade downs affected the rest of the draft.

How did it all work out? Which mocks produced the best results? You?re going to have to listen to find out.

This is something Chris has been talking about for weeks, it?s good to see some validation for his thinking. Your hosts also quash the idea that Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia might not be fighting for their jobs. They are and we tell you why this has to be their year.

Short of a major shakeup (Redskins trading down or Detroit taking Tua), I'm really warming up to Okudah. Good teams can never have too many corners, and landing Okudah could give Detroit it's first truly quality secondary in... 50 years? More?

After Young, there's not much difference between the 2nd best pass rusher and a 2nd round pass rusher.

I like the 2nd round pass rushers better to be honest.
