dumbass student

A buddy of mine in Boulder used to climb up buildings all the time. As an avid rock climber, he made a very good burglar and at parties he used to leave and then climb back up the outside of the buildings just to show off.

did you do it during a snow storm on a glassy buildling?

Yeah, and when I came to in the hospital you know what the nurse said to me?

She said "Tinsel, you dumbass."

I had a friend who used to do stuff like that when we were in undergrad.

he was the guy who would stay out and get into trouble after everyone else passed out.

one year he showed up in my friend's 3rd floor apartment climbing through the window at 3 am because he thought they still had beer left. one of them woke up to get a drink of water and was like "OMFG WTF ARE YOU DOING?"

in Cancun, he climbed up 6 floors of a hotel, going from balcony to balcony to get back into a party he had been kicked out of.

he did other stuff like that. after a certain point, people stopped being amused, and started really being freaked out by him

Is he that fucker on the new CitiBank commercial with that real hot chick who climbs way up high on that rock?

The free climber (or whatever they call it) who was just on 60 Minutes?

no. he was like one of those drunken masters in the kung fu movies... he only had climbing skills when he was plastered. and he only climbed edifices that were not legal to climb, like residential buildings.

these days he's 100% sober and lives with his girlfriend in a small 2 bedroom ranch in Royal Oak. I crashed at his place a couple years ago when I was in town for a weekend. they had lots of cheap flowery art on the walls from Target and Sears that siad stuff like "Home is Where the Heart Is" and "Home Sweet Home."

Stupidity is a self correcting problem. Thankfully for him this wasn't a permanent solution.

those might require a separate thread. maybe even a new section of the board.

I don't even know half the stuff he probably did from the hours of 2 AM to 5 AM over the course of 4 years.

I remember one time I was hanging out at his place and his dad called... I only heard half the conversation, but it went something like this: <blockquote>"Hey dad. ... Yeah, the police called a couple more times. ... no they didn't say they had any evidence it was me. most was probably destroyed in the fire anyways. ... I don't remember, I was too drunk. ... Listen I gotta go, my friend is here."</blockquote>then we went back to drinking whiskey like nothing unusual happened.
