Eagles sign Jermaine Couplin III

How can that happen? Do the Eagles have to get permission from the Lions? I'm glad the kid is getting a chance to play but I don't understand how another team can take our practice squad players.

Practice squad players are open to be signed to any teams regular dress roster. I think that's the key is that they have to play him. He'll be a STer/back up.

He'll be back after whoever he's filling in for gets healthy. This guy might break Fluellens record for how many times he was a Lion.

they don't have to "play" him but he has to be on the 53 man roster, don't think he needs to be on the active 45.

That's correct. He HAS to be kept on the 53 man roster. He CANNOT go on the Eagles PS. He can be cut, though.
