It is absolutely unacceptable to handcuff the team by demanding they go out and get Ebron with the #10 pick and then NOT design schemes that make him show that value.

So far the only "mismatch" Ebron has demonstrated is him being a mismatch for the Lions and Stafford.

Would be nice if Calvin was 100% healthy though. We saw what a healthy crew of WRS and TES did game 1 against the Giants. And Ebron has been open, Stafford just can't find him or he doesn't have enough time to get him the ball. NFLN Playbook explained it last week

Sadly, I'm not sure we'll ever see that again. The way he goes all out for some catches between multiple defenders doesn't help his injury situation and (tin foil hat time) I wouldn't be surprised if opposing defenders go after his legs with the intent to injure.

With all that said, even a less than 100% Calvin is a top tier WR and the Lions desperately need him back.

As Tony said, it's not like he can't get open. The problem is that Ebron is generally Stafford's last read. Assuming he even has time to get that far in his reads (O-line), there's probably someone else open first.

We don't know for sure if this is an issue of playcalling; Ebron always being the last option. Maybe Stafford just hasn't build a rapport or doesn't trust him. Either way it's hard to fault Ebron. Even Pettigrew was getting more looks than this when he couldn't catch a cold. I hope the offense starts opening up soon, because the only thing worse than making a bad pick is wasting a good one.
