Farmers get 12 billion in farm aid

By "farmers" do they mean big industrial agri-businesses, or small family-owned farms, hippie co-ops, etc.?

In the liberal left wing more free shit economy, why shouldn?t old McDonald get his share of more free shit?

Just too bad Bernie hadn?t been elected - it would have been even more more welfare for the climate wrecking methane producing herders.

And why are liberals surprised that Trumpkoscovich is being accused of being like a Soviet pinko commie by members of his own party?

Isn?t that what Democrats and liberals have been saying all along anyway?

I think Bob is talking about cattle men actually.

The ones who produce the climate destroying methane farters.

Does it matter that these trump tariffs are terrible . That is why this bailout is being giving .

When Republicans are in charge, rich people get bailouts.

When Democrats are in charge, poor people get free shit, paid for by the bailout money the Republicans gave the rich people.

It?s the circle of life, like in The Lion King.

Yeah sounds about right.. so maybe we should try something different ..
like less military.
Debt free colleges.
National healthcare.

Start there maybe ?

Well we already have a whole lot of subsidized education and healthcare.

I agree we?ve flushed tons of blood and treasure down the toilet fighting the battles of people who hate us.

which colleges are in debt? Besides the one formerly run by Bernie Sanders' wife who got financing when Bernie strong-armed the banks into making the loans. Actually, I don't think they're in debt anymore, I think they shut down completely.

I liked your post... cause it's real dumb.

thanks, I know whenever I point out the truth about your hero (septuagenarian loon bag socialist moron, Bernie Sanders) you call it dumb or say something even more stupid like pointing out the fact that he's been reelected to do nothing in the senate so many times, as if that's proof that he's not a socialist moron. You do this because

Farmers need more money so they can over produce more dairy and add to the 1.39 billion-pound surplus of cheese. Maybe over produce corn so we can dump it out because if they can't be paid for it, fuck off if anyone will get to use it. It is known.

and so they can bankrupt cotton farmers outside the US, particularly in impoverished nations in Africa, because they can't afford to compete with subsidized US producers.

Wasn't even aware of that one. Damn, we're good.

Dang.. Just one night without Mr Thread-kill. Maybe tomorrow!

says the guy who posts the same three posts in every thread. You should go camping again.

I don't know how much subsidy is too much subsidy, but our food supply is something I can't imagine leaving entirely to the free market with no subsidy. That would be a reckless way to run a nation. Bad things happen sometimes. You need a buffer in the food supply because when bad things happen, it's not enough to expect the supply to drop, prices to rise, and production to increase. That's too slow a process when the thing you're talking about is food. Some amount of subsidy to keep our infrastructure and capacity in excess of our needs should be built into the system. Is $12 billion too much? Maybe. But Netflix budgeted $13 billion for this year and it doesn't seem shocking to me that we'd put in a Netflix level of effort in maintaining a buffer to our food supply.

it's not $12B, it's an incremental $12B on top of $20B/year we already spend. And we're not leaving it to the free market, this subsidy is a buffer to support farmers hurt by tariffs from the moronic trade war - there's nothing "free market" about that.

Without farm subsidies price of US food would sky rocket to meet the rest of the world.

That sweet sweet corn juice is literally in almost everything in US supermarkets.
