Halfway through our season, who are your favorite players on offense and defense? One player for each side of the ball.

Offense: Junior Hemmingway - This guy is good and as I've been saying for two years now, he could be a first round pick if this was a passing offense. Against Northwestern he really showed a lot of his potential. Denard targeted him often and he made some big plays.

Defense: Ryan Van Bergen - He reminds me so much of the old school D-linemen that I grew up with, it's really hard to not love the guy. Countess seems to be the up and coming favorite defender on Monster's list, but until he matures a bit, RVB takes the cake!

I'll take Borges on offense and Mattison on defense. Without them coaching up this team, i'm afraid we'd be about where RR had Michigan last year.

Gardner,idk why I guess his potential.
Vincent smith, tough elusive runner who can catch.

I guess its true what they say about the backup QB being the most popular player... Usually it's on a losing team though..

Lol. Its hard to explain, but I'm not a denard hater. (some passes just gives me brain tumors) and Denard gets enough popularity from fans. Devin came in as a 5star qb with a good chance to start early, then here comes denard. Now it seems he'll have to wait his sr year to start. With all this going on he still is nothing but smiles. I like that. Not a lot of top recruits would stay.

Then his potential. He looks like a vince young clone. And after having to watch vince kill us in the rose bowl, it'd be nice having that on our side. Not saying he will be vince, he could bust.

i feel the same way man. But, sometimes my anger at Denard's shortcomings overpowers the good things that I see in him.

I know what you're saying.

But its hard to actually dislike denard. He seems so humble and a nice guy. Always gives 100%, even if he's giving to the other team lol

Offense: I like Shaw for his punishing running style. He also seems to be the only back with speed to get around the outside. I also like Junior for his consistency and big play ability.

Defense: I've been really impressed with Kovacs and Hawthorne deserves a mention with his nose for the ball. However, my fav is Big Will simply because I know him and am rooting for him to achieve his true potential with proper coaching/guidance/motivation.

I like hemingway on offense the dude looks huge, we should just throow it up to him in the endzone all the time like the lions do with calvin.

on defense i really like jake ryan hes got lots of potential and is in almost every play.

Offense = Taylor Lewan
Defense = Jebrial Black

I guess you can figure I use to be a linemen! I love Taylor's attitude and I think Black is being used a motivational tool for Roh and Roh is not getting it. I really think Black is going to be a big time DE in the coming years

I want to add Blake Countess. He did get beat on a big play this week but he had great coverage. He has really stepped up when we needed him to. He and Ryan will be the future of our defense.

Devin will more than likely get his rs from last season. He'll be a JR when he takes over. BTW.. Stars mean nothing...

I hope he gets the rs.

And if they don't matter then why do the top teams usually have the top recruiting classes. Lol
