Final-minute playcalling was influenced by kicker woes

I still think on first or second down they could have dialed up a fast hitting run play with Winn... Spread the field then bam... get the damn kicker closer...Oh well 3 passes and two incompletions..

I'm with you. I wanted them to get a few yards closer with a run or two, but they clearly had no faith in the run game either. Not sure it would have matter anyhow with how bad Henery was kicking. That dud probably would have missed badly from 10yds out.

This makes things worse. So they are playing scared.

No faith in kicking
No faith in running
Faith in passing, based on what that game?

Coach expects the kicker to miss, so instead of bringing down the clock and trying a last second field goal, where if you miss you go into overtime, they decide to try what they did and leave time on the clock.

Horrible coaching. Blame for loss goes:

1) coaching
2) kicker
3) QB
4) Oline

Agreed they should have ran it once to not give Bills a chance. Bad execution on the plays for sure though.

If I'm the Coach/OC...here's my play calls in that situation:

1st down, you run the ball with Winn. Bills possibly call timeout. If not, then you kick with 4 seconds left so time runs out.

2nd down, come out in same formation, run play action pass off same run look as 1st down with your R1 draft pick who is supposed to be your latest and greatest "weapon" running a pattern that allows Staff to throw away if pressured or to a location where "only the receiver can catch it", but with Ebron understanding he MUST stay in bounds. If pass is incomplete, clock stops. If not, Bills call 2nd TO or let clock run to 4 seconds and try FG. IF Staff is sacked beyond FG range, so be it...play for OT.

3rd down (if necessary, obviously), run Winn to K's preferred location for FG, which you try with 4 seconds left or play for OT.

Sorry Caldwell...not buying what you are shoveling. At worst the game should have gone to OT. Bills O should not have had any opportunities left in regulation. Terrible clock management. You get a pass THIS time because, well...you know what, on second thought, "NO!"...you do NOT get a pass. You are an NFL coach and if you are talented and smart enough to make it to that level then this sort of thing should NEVER happen regardless of what excuse(s) you toss out there. You are the coach, the buck stops with you and you need to hold yourself accountable for the game ending the way it did.

If im the coach of a team that spends all its money on its qb and offensive weapons....I throw a touchdown pass vs buffalos shitty pass defense that has stacked the box. Our retards throw it right into the hands of a defender a half yard away from the los.
