- Rutgers played in the first intercollegiate football game against Princeton in 1869

In the 149 seasons since then, Rutgers has:
- gone to a grand total of 10 bowl games, none of which were played anywhere near New Year's Day
- never finished in the top 10 of any poll
- Only won three (3) conference championships, all while as a member of the Div-III "Middle Atlantic Conference"
- never won anything else

- Since the AP poll started in 1937, Rutgers has only been ranked in the final poll 4 times

- since the Coaches' Poll started in 1950, Rutgers has only been ranked in the final poll 2 times

- in 1978, their Greatest season, they went 11-0 but faced such weak competition that they only finished ranked 17th in each poll. Everyone laughed at them.

- Rutgers sent Harbaugh a whiny letter telling him to "stay out of New Jersey," and tried to start a rivalry, then lost three months later, 78-0. people actually felt sorry for them.

- Rutgers blows

The 1869 Rugters (sic) team was probably better than the 2018 version.

What an amazing addition to the Big 10.

Rugters (sic) was invited to increase the competitive nature of the conference, boost TV ratings, and avail programs like Michigan to attract its best football players. #.333

And give other Big Ten teams a more SEC-like schedule with potential IDLE weeks late in the season.

I mean, they are the Scarlet Knights and all they can think of is to put an "R"on their helmet?

And to give MICHIGAN an additional Home Game whereby the tens of thousands of alumni, family and fans can see THE WOLVERINES play a short, but annoying drive away!

And so Damfran (where is he?) can get another stadium to visit, and more restrooms to review ...

and Tony Soprano (RIP) ...James Gandolfini

but mainly, so that the Jersey Shore fanbase can be counted amongst "BigTen fans"

And to think, Brady Hoke found a way to lose to these jokers. Sorry for the flashback, guys. Harbaugh corrected this abberation and embarrassment a year later.

it is crazy right?

I looked back though and they 9-4 that year. they got blown out by everyone good and won close games against everyone mediocre, like we were in Hoke's last year.

goddamn that was painful.

I say the revenge tour continues against Rutgers. 2014 hasnt been completely erased and they need another drubbing. Harbaugh needs to have a real good talk to his players and make them believe, through hypnotism, that the 2014 loss happened just last year.

I don?t see Harbaugh beating them down. I think he gets up a comfortable lead of say 34 and then coast.

Every conference has to have a program like this. It used to be Northwestern in the B1G back in the 70s and 80s, now it is Rutgers.

He doesn't have to try to beat them down. All we have to do is build a lead and then run the ball. We'll still kill them doing that. They are an atrocious doormat.

Right-o.

Rutgers has one of the worst rushing defenses in FBS, and we're not going to throw it much.

Well, again, the bottom 50 of the roster aren?t even allowed to play on the road.

So not as much depth, i.e, inexperienced/undeveloped to put in.

I would treat this game like it's week 4 of the preseason. I wouldn't play DPJ, Shea, Higdon, Gary, Bush, Long, Winovich.

The only thing that can come from this game is an injury. I do not want the 3rd consecutive year of a backup and 2nd straight year of the 3rd string QB starting the most important game of the season. Playoffs and conference championship game would be nice but they MUST beat OSU this year.
