go get him !!!!!!!!! lol

Jared Gaither - T - Chiefs

Chiefs waived OT Jared Gaither.
In Sunday night's loss to the Steelers, left tackle Brendan Albert needed to come out for one play. Gaither replaced him and immediately committed a costly false start penalty. Now the ex-Raven is out of a job.

Michiganalex would've made a thread, but fortunately he's not here.

he probably got cut by both teams bcuz hes fat and doesnt have the will to compete anymore

I would not have a problem with signing him for the Vet minimum. Really no risk involved there and what happens if Jeff Backus-up gets injured? Have not heard anything on Fox in quite a while and he is still young.

He hasn't missed a game in 9 years so lets sign a backup, lol.

What do we have for depth right now? Not a whole lot. Just because he has been healthy does not mean that insurance is a bad thing. Either starting OT "could" get injured. Just saying it would not be bad to sign him as a cheap insurance policy. Not like I am saying we should sign and start the kid.

they have so many injuries on D right now , you cant justify a roster spot for this pylon.

You're assuming he's better than our depth right now. He's been cut twice this season, what makes you think he can hack it anymore?

For the Vet minimum I have no problem signing guys who were once something and probably nothing right now for depth. I can definitely agree with Slick that our injuries on defense are far more concerning. It will be tough to slow down NO this week with our DBs banged up.

A vet minimum? Its more to it than that. Roster spot. Even without defensive players out. You don't bring in a guy who was once good who knows how long ago and take up a roster spot.

Not going to argue that a roster spot is important and really not wanting to argue over what would be a depth guy anyway. I was just saying that it would not bother me if they signed him for depth. There are more pressing concerns and even when/if Aaron Brown is released from his temporary roster spot I would agree that a defensive player would make more sense depending on where players are at with their recoveries.

He's playing well, and they were thinking about resigning him and a minor injury and he gets cut? That makes no sense.

I dunno maybe the injury is worse than reported but the guy was a special teams demon for the Bears.

I'd rather they replace Raiola with an orange barrel before they sign Gaither.
