Agree. Even in Arizona 10pm games that start at 7pm are just too late. And this series is weird, we have Sunday off. I've never seen a year where they had Sunday off.

This is not what I thought our starting lineup would look like months ago. No Meadows, Kriedler playing there instead. Ibanez at 3B and no Carpenter (I guess he's still sitting vs LHP), and Baez at SS. . And Margot.

I just do not believe using Baez and Kreidler is the best for the Tigers.
So damn tired of Detroit teams getting hit hard with Injuries.
Why won’t the Tigers move on from JB ? Could it be they are fearful of a Different team fixing Jb ? That can’t be it ?

Owners generally don't like throwing money away - there are certainly no trade offers coming for Javy. Hopefully he only starts vs LHP. At most.

they have nobody good enough defensively to play CF. I think they want to limit Greene out there because he plays too recklessly out there.

I've seen Greene dive for balls in LF. I'm not sure it limits his injuries. His injuries he has had wasn't because he played CF.

Malloy is terrible in the OF. Margot used to be a good defensive player, but from what I have read, he has regressed and is average at best.

Maybe because a lack of opportunities? Some guys are just more aggressive. Greene is one such guy. You ever see Lou Whitaker dive for a ball? I don't remember seeing him dive.

Malloy was probably sent down because he had options where Margot doesn't, being a 9 year veteran. These injuries are going to screw them in the early part of the year with the tough schedule. I'm hoping by the All-Star break everyone will be back healthy.

I think its more about why did we sign him when we already had Malloy?

yes. In LF he doesn't have to cover as much ground, so there are less times when he needs to dive. Also, he isn't the fastest guy so he doesn't get to as many balls easily. That's why Meadows is so much better out there. I love watching Greene play defense, I just cringe every time I see him leave his feet.

The Margot signing never made sense once they said he wasn't playing CF.

We just have too many guys like Kriedler, Javy, McKinstry that are OK fielders but can't hit any better than the guys in this forum. Gonna lose a lot of 3-1 ball games
