Game 1: Lions @ Chargers Thread

So we get to look forward all week to LKP's injury excuse. Very excited for that.

"We offered Suh more money than he was worth. Fairley too. So they are True Free Agent signings. And if they were here, it would have been a different game. True win!" --LKP

I do ordinarily. But a lot of other people don't and it just makes it tough to have a real conversation.

I am not sure I have ever been more frustrated with a Lions game than I am with today's performance. Not even during the hapless 0-16 season.

We're all here arguing who gets the blame, and there's so much of it, no one is wrong. The entire fucking team gets the blame today. The coaches get the blame. The weather gets the blame. The alignment of the planets gets the blame.

This just sucked.

Our O-line is horrible still. With the that said, Stafford still blows and I'm completely off the bandwagon. If you can't luck into 1 win against a good team on the road in 7 years, you are just not a good player. Mariota, who I thought would suck this year, came out and threw 4 td's in his first professional half of football with a terrible team around him.

For sure....but if Stafford just plays a tad better we win. Even withough the poor defense..........don't forget Mr int boy.....

11-5 and a top 5 defense in 2014. I called 2014. And I'll call 2015. I have never failed.

12-4 with a top 5 offense and top 5 defense. Stafford 100 QB rating.

Top 5 defense just gave up 33 points and 483 yards.

Maybe someone can explain since I didn't watch it.. If Abdullah did so well, and it looks like he did, why didn't he get more touches in the run game?

Because Lombardi is still play calling. So you don't use your weapons in a Lombardi offense.

You target Calvin less than a handful of times. You use Joique Bell as much as you can. You give your opponent every chance to outscore you.

And I wish that was sarcasm.

Gotta say it... I am vastly less impressed with Austin now.

I said last year, I couldn't tell if he was a defensive genius or a guy who got lucky enough to inherit a lot of high round talent that Schwartz never took advantage of.

After today, I'm thinking it was the talent, and without it he's very average.

Thanks. I figured as much just thought it might be something else. I hate not watching but a part of me is glad I didn't.

One game on the road, I'll wait a bit. Talking about defense, how'd Ngata do?

He was serviceable in my opinion. He got double teamed all day, and he took the pressure, but no penetration.

Essentially, he kept one extra man out of the play all day, which didn't really help us truth be told.
