Game 107 Minnesota Twins at Detroit Tigers July 28th 2024 10:40 a.m. MST

Canha wins; he didn't swing those outside pitches. Now let's see if our two rookies can learn from that. Well, they didn't swing at anything outside the strike zone. Other than that.....

The blank with the pitching FIX the 0 fence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two strikeouts in a row to changeups below the strike zone; you would think that Skubal is pitching for the Twins. Edit: oops, three. Even after Baez saw the same pitch for the second strike.

Tigers are playing like it's a getaway game, only they are home with the guardians and royals coming to Detroit. 1 measly hit.

Not sure who's worst - their pitcher, the ump, or our hitters.

Side news:

Cubs get 3B Isaac Paredes from Rays in exchange for Christopher Morel, 2 prospects

Definitely our hitters, at least with today's lineup. Their starter is actually pretty good, with a whip of 1.01, and the reliever doesn't matter much when we are 5 runs behind, with so many holes in the lineup. It was a good little league game, though. Everyone (but Urshela) got their turn to hit.

I should have clarified, 9th inning only. The RP was throwing meatsballs, we couldn't hit them, and on occassion the Ump would call a foot outside strike.

Don't be surprised if Canha is traded, they bring back Torkelson, even if he still has trouble hitting a fastball 95 mph or better, and by metrics is not that good defensively.

Boxscore.

Twins 5 - Tigers 0: Hope you didn’t take the Ober.
Another bullpen day could’ve gone much worse, but the Tigers’ bats were largely silent.
