Game 109 Cleveland Indians @ Detroit Tigers July 30, 2024 10:10 a.m. MST

I'd rather see Jung, torkleson, Lee, Clark, dingler bat over most of the clowns today. I know unrealistic. But still.

The bullpen was a bust in afternoon shutout.

We were out of playoff contention for a long long time. 1 game under .500 be damned.

Tigers probables for KC series:

Who the hell is going to pitch for the Tigers going forward? Scott Harris: "I’m having breakfast with A.J. tomorrow. We’re gonna pick up all the pieces and figure it out. I agree we need more starter innings. We’re going to add them internally."

Thursday: Keider Montero
Friday: Tarik Skubal
Saturday: TBA
Sunday: TBA
Expect some internal moves for the two open spots, but Bryan Sammons made a case to stick with his work Monday.

Spencer Torkelson is hitting .321 with three home runs, 11 walks and 13 strikeouts in his last eight games with Triple-A Toledo, posting a 1.214 OPS. He also has a .419 on-base percentage (and an .875 OPS) in his last 19 games.

Colt Keith in July: .322 AVG .404 OBP .644 SLG 1.048 OPS (T-13th) 190 wRC+ (T-12th) 1.4 fWAR (T-10th)
7 HR. Only 22 years old.

Tigers run differential the past 5 years (minus Covid season)
2024: -11 (we were at +3 at one point)
2023: -79(Scott Harris is hired)
2022: -156
2021: -59 (remember, after this year we thought that adding a SS would fix all our problems)
2019: -333

I really do hope the best for Tork but his Toledo games seem similar to Detroit's games, inconsistent. Very streaky.

I don't remember hearing anything about his success down there hitting anything above 95 MPH like with the Tigers.
Maybe he has decided to change his swing or stance to what they were suggesting.
