Game 11: Eagles @ Lions *Thanksgiving* Thread

Even if we win out, it would be tough to make the wild card. We'd need some help getting there.

Last season the worst wildcard team was still 11-5. Only Carolina made it with a worse record, and they won a terrible division at 7-8-1.

We'd have to get a 6 seed. We can't realistically pass Minny because they beat us twice. We could catch GB (but won't) and it could be huge if we go 2-0 against them. But it looks like Atlanta is 6-4. Everyone else is 5-5 or worse. So it is an actual possibility to get the 6 seed if they could somehow finish 9-7.

Packers will be the biggest challenge next week. They beat the shit out of the Vikings in that last game.

Their struggles are over.

100% possibly, but that's why I said we'd need some help. Some teams are going to have to lose a lot for us to make it in, even if we win out.

Aikman summed it up nicely..."this looks like the greatest show on turf against this Eagles defense."

Now please do this to GB next week.

Our last 3 Thanksgiving Day games have been blowouts wins

2013 - 40-10 over the Packers
2014 - 34-17 over the Bears

and now today 45-7.

I was at the Thanksgiving game in the early 80s where we beat the Steelers 45-3, this is more dominating.

I think I'd like to get Staff off of the field now...or make him just hand it off. I'd be a bit more scared of a cheap shot if the Eagles had any pride but they've definitely all quit on Chipper.

Agreed. No sense in him taking a hit or a cheap shot at this point. Let Orlovsky play.

I tasted a bit of bile just typing that... but it's true.

What were they protesting?

Not sure, but you could see the players were not comfortable on the field. Not sure if they just seemed psycho, or their cause did, but guys headed for the sidelines looking weirded out.

Very happy to come home from spending Thanksgiving day with my old mom and hearing our Lions had a dominant game.
