Perhaps the most-memorable game I ever listened to on the radio outside of the pennant-clinching game in 1968. I was driving up north with my college girlfriend and we were riveted to the broadcast. LINK

Because of the quickness or the pitching duel or the fact we lost 1-0. I have to say 51,000 in attendance was impressive.

Ernie and Paul called the game. Royals were a premier team; Tigers were not very good. The closeness of the game and that Fidrych was on the mound.

The Bird was special. Stupid injury. Radio was the best at that time.. If we still had Ernie & Paul I'd listen now rather than watching.

Kerry Carpenter putting charge in Tigers' lineup.

Reese Olson (hip) OK after comebacker, but 'blacked out' by impact.

Unexpected Tigers rookie helping dig offense out of unthinkable rut.
Rookie Wenceel Perez has been a beacon of hope in a struggling Tigers offense this year.

Bleacher Report got Tigers fans wrong: we're not depressed, just pissed off.
We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it any more.

That didn't like it was going that far kept on going. Leadoff triple and single for KC.

Only 2 innings and yesterday I understand why KC is winning so many games.

Looks like another one in the loss column tonight. WTF with this team?
