Game 6: Lions @ Dolphins Thread

what about the hard preseason practice now that patrica had? It appeared the heat was a issue but the lions were physically able to power through the heat. A offense that can give its defense time to rest is such a luxury. I just can?t believe we lost to the jets and 49ers. Should be 5-1. Matt also beat a team with a winning record yesterday. Hope there are plenty more of those.

5-1 lol

Sort of boring around here after a nice win like that. Everyone pretty much agrees on everything, so not much for discussion. I guess that's nice.
What is the deal with Ziggy Ansah...he's missed 5.5 games + bye so far, and unlike other players who get injured, there has been little info revealed on what his shoulder injury entailed. Bone bruise? separation? laceration? tattoo infection?

Patricia's teams typically start slow (his defenses in NE) and get better as the year progresses. I wish that wasn't the case, you have to win games early too, but this team is getting better week to week. Offense looks good. I still wish we were more aggressive offensively, but we're efficient.

Defense looks better....they're playing their assignments better, getting to the ball......but the overall lack of talent on that side is still hurting us and will continue to all year. Robinson, Kennard, Jones, Lawson are all guys who would be good backups on a good team. Kennard flashes, but Jones is invisible most weeks and Lawson is only called out for the plays he doesn't make or his stupid penalties.

If we can get a key FA or two on the defensive side and have a good draft.....resign Tate.....this team could be fuckin dangerous next year. I'm still expecting 8-8, 7-9 this year because our defense will be so hit and miss.....but we might ACTUALLY be on the right track now. I'm cautiously optimistic.

If you start at week 3.....we've beaten NE, GB and Mia pretty soundly. The Dallas loss will be the one that hurts the most in the end. We should have won that fuckin game. Defense looked absolutely lost.

Growing pains, I guess.

Really wish that the Lions would extend Tate, but I'll bet that the brass will think that they can let him walk after this season, with all of the other weapons that Stafford has to throw to, plus becoming much better @ their run game.

I didn't see anyone having any issues with the heat at all, I'll give beard credit for that. that mindset isn't a bad thing. push till ya drop and stay angry Lions!

Tate would just be too expensive. Unless he's willing to come back for the kind of money he's currently making, it's just not a good investment. Golladay is the new #1. Jones is still a quality #2. Even Roberts is starting to show the hands he was touted to have coming out of college. Plus Kerryon, that's a lot of weapons already. There's still work to be done on the defense, and pass-rushers aren't cheap. Redistributing Tate's potential 10 mil to the D-line/#2CB/LB probably pays bigger dividends than a 3rd WR.

In the 5 previous years with the Lions, Ansah missed all of 7 games. Yes, we've always known he was fighting through lingering injuries, but he still showed up to the games. In his last year under contract, a guaranteed contract, suddenly he's missed 5.5 out of 7 games.

I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt in previous years, since he fought through injuries. But it does seem a bit telling that once his future with the team is almost over, he can't get on the field.

If Michel in New England is really hurt maybe we can get something for AA!
I guess it is not as serious as first thought. No structural damage which is good for him.

If Tate does sign with another club next year, hopefully it won't be within our division, and esp with the fucking Packers. Best if he signs with an AFC team.

If the Lions were truly worried about who Tate would sign with, they shouldn?t let him go.....unless the price was just astronomical.

I think we have a solid chance in every game for the rest of the year. Im not saying we'll win but i would say that every game is a winnable one. This team just looks like one of those teams that can keep building. If someone said at the end of the year we were 11-5 i wouldn't be surprised. If someone said 8-8 i wouldn't be surprised either. I hope Patricia has them in a different mindset than we've had in recent years. The way they looked yesterday against a team that has looked solid all year is inspiring. Plus heading both the Patriots and packers games everyone wrote them off in is excellent. We had Dallas beaten but the defense just couldn't stop them to end the game and the first 2 weeks looked like a completely different team.

I’m no where near sick of winning
